Congratulations to Mayor Wall! Definitely well-deserved!
I've known Russ before he was Mayor and his past and service has been impeccable deserving this recognition.
But in recent dealing with the workers he or city manager has hired to serve the citizens he has had some ringers move in on him who are about to destroy the vibrant city we are proud of. City workers are taking the attitude they don't serve the public or citizens of Taylorsville, they think citizens must serve the city with its wishes and wants. I think he needs to go back and review what has been going on in the last few years and how hired city workers view their jobs in relation to government and the citizens.
They are getting the Obama syndrome that public resident citiens are servants to government rather than government serves the people. Too many of the contracted city employees feel they are above the law and are the law and don't have to be accountable.
Our budget is in critical mass and I think investigations and accountability are in order before any finalizing and raising taxes or changes in the government services.
Congratulations to Russ. This recognition reflects what good leadership can do to keep our cities responsible to it's citizens and taxpayers while some neighboring cities follow costly visions of grandeur amassing debt and high taxation to their citizens.
