President Monson is a great man. However, we are protestants. That is, we protest for our right to worship Christ without the authority of the Roman Catholic Church, scripturally the original and obviously the world's largest and most influential Christian church. Arguing that we aren't protestants is parochial to the point of arrogance. If I were the petty officer detailed to send the sailors to their respective churches, I would put any Mormon kid who had the impertinence to use the occasion to assert his otherness on whatever detail would give him the most time to contemplate the error of his ways.
