"The latest Real Clear Politics Electoral Map has President Obama leading Mitt Romney 253-170 in electoral votes, the 2012 presidential race is Obama’s to win"

Then you should have nothing to worry about. The article in Real Clear Politics entitled "Obama Fans Engaged in Willful Self-Deception" is obviously not intended for your reading pleasure.

expect Obama and his band of political pirates to dig deep into their bag of dirty tricks and gin up some new controversy to stave off the Romney surge. Let's see now - we tried the war on women - didn't work. We tried the war on wall street - didn't work. We are currently trying the war against Blacks and Latinos - not working. We tried the
promise the world" to college kids - skeptical at best. We even threw in the gay marriage flip flop complete with glossy portrayals of "saint Obama" on Newsweek magazine ! Never fear the Obama propaganda machine is just getting warmed up and after all - Democrat's all know that people are just plain dumb and gullible - right?? I think what "team Obama" is finding out - to their astonishment - is that 2012 is turning out to be different than 2008 in that people are a bit wiser and not as gullible to all the hope n change nonsense and other fluffy political cotton candy that seems to have lost some of it's sugar. Heaven forbid Obama has to actually run on his record!!!!

oh boy - expect some new crisis to suddenly show it's ugly face from team Obama. Yes time to turn on the ole distraction machine!! Can't let people start to see Romney as someone who DOES actually know what he is talking about with economics.

The swing states that will determine the electoral win are all rather close. As history has shown, the undecided vote almost always goes to the challenger this late in the game. That will swing the purple states to Romney if things stay as they are. I actually see a possible landslide for Romney, very much like Reagan vs. Carter. If that does happen it will be interesting to watch what the Democrats, mainstream media, and Hollywood do. If Obama gets routed, there will likely be charges of racist, intolerant America as we have never seen before.

If Romney is actually leading in a CBS poll then Obama better get worried in a hurry.

All their polls are liberal biased and skewed to favor a liberal candidate.

They shouldn't even be allowed to call themselves a news agency. They are basically State-run media.

So far LDS liberal is the only one with a proper perspective here. Ask Al Gore how important the popular vote is. Again today electoral college probabilites has Obama way ahead. Dream on DN..and Utah.

After jumping up 10 cents a gallon last week, gas has jumped another 4 cents here today. This affects everything you buy: food, clothes, medicine. The following is from a timesfreepress article published on March 2nd:

Shortly before he became President Barack Obama's energy secretary, Steven Chu declared, "Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe" -- which were around $8 per gallon at the time.

Has he changed his mind since then? It seems not. On Tuesday, during a hearing in the House of Representatives, Chu said high gas prices are helpful in spurring research on alternative energy.

A frustrated Rep. Alan Nunnelee, R-Miss., asked Chu, "But is the overall goal to get our price" of gasoline down?

"No," Chu replied. "The overall goal is to decrease our dependency on oil, to build and strengthen our economy."

Are you better off than you were 4 years ago? Is all this still Bush's fault? 5 trillion dollars debt spent and we have 2 million less jobs than before. People are so discouraged that they stop looking for jobs. "Green" corporations that are crony's of Obama get hundreds of billions and then go out of business. Obama's Justice Department gives tens of thousands of guns to Mexican drug cartels which end up killing untold number of mexicans and also kills USA citizens along with USA law enforcement. Folks, this is just the beginning of the list. Not to mention all the campaign promises he broke. We need POSITIVE change as soon as possible. We must elect Romney and give him both houses so we can reverse this terrile and evil trend. There is a new video out from the Catholic Church that is very interesting. They hit the nail right on the head. Google it!

Take it from a woman: I'm already overly weary of the Obama campaign tactics. Obama's millions of campaign dollars for what? To show us how cool he is? A Rock Star? Twist our minds until we truly believe that he just needs just a little more time to engage the full power of his awesomeness? Please.

His divide and conquer tactics will never engage the citizens of our country in positive enough ways to solve the problems we face. But it will foster hatred, division, bigotry and selfishness; adding to our further decline. It baffles me how unengaged he has become in the important matters of the world and nation. He has become adept at embracing sensational minutia His "war against women" smear campaign creation was an attempt to win female voters but turned me off completely- same with the W.Post surrogate attack on Romney's hair cutting prank in high school.

Small wonder women are now preferring Romney. Many of us would rather solve problems than wallow in them.

For the Dems, Hillary is looking better, all the time, as time goes by.
That's why James Carville is saying Obama should panic.

Barack Obama ran a campaign ad yesterday that calls Romney and Bain capital Vampires. This was on the exact same day that Barack Obama went to a fundraiser held by a partner a private equity firm called Blackstone. Blackstone is the same type of firm that Bain Capital is.

Do any of you Obama supporters sense ANY hypocrisy here? He is fundraising on Wall Street from the SAME kind of private equity firm he is demonizing. If you are an Obama supporter, how do you reconcile this?

Is it any wonder Romney is pulling ahead in this race?

I was curious enough to go read what the Life of Julia thing is all about.

The graphics and writing level appear to be designed to appeal to someone with a 3rd grade reading capability and 4th grade intellectual reasoning power. Is Team Obama thinking that is the demographic niche of the voting age women who have not yet made up their minds?

Women generally are more compassionate than men and this is reflected in the slight Democratic leaning referred to here as the Democrats have always portrayed themselves as the party of empathy. This is an interesting reaction considering that most mothers also recognize that rewarding all children equally without regard to how well they mind their mothers is a recipe for resentment, discouragement, and low achievement.

Women generally are also more sensitive to moral issues than men but have been willing to give Obama the benefit of the doubt until he refused to defend DOMA and finally admitted his position last week. A Congressional vote of 427 to 81 (5 to 1) and 42 states now forbid same-sex recognition and if voter referendums are permitted, the remaining 6 will go too.

Obama's RCP average has improved slightly over the past week and is only one point lower than his average the past month. Not sure why the Deseret News can't seem bothered to note any polls other than ones that show improvement for Romney. (For instance Obama has improved in Rasmussen and Gallup by 2 points since his gay marriage endorsement).

You know alt134, I wonder that also about the DNews. Why in the world are they so selective about the polls they feature. Actually, we all know why, but it makes you question their integrity. You would also think they would want to serve their readers better. As can be seen by many of the comments on this board people that get their information from the DNews are highly misinformed. You would think the paper would want to do better.

That is like suggesting one basketball team has slightly more points in the first few minutes of the first quarter of a basketball game. Romney hasn't even been nominated by the Republican Party yet. Let's wait and see who he selects for his running mate before declaring Obama the winner.

Obama may be ahead in electoral count right now, but his problem is that the swing states that will determine the winner are all in play. As I said before, when voting time comes, 9 out of 10 undecided/swing voters will go with the challenger. And, Obama should be up by several points right now. Carter was. He is barely holding any lead if not behind. Only one way to analyze that. Trouble for Obama.

It warms the heart to know we have such a competent commander n chief. Yes sir - I'm just certain corporate America is brimming with confidence considering the economic genius we have in the White House. Good grief, I don't know whether to laugh, cry or throw my shoe when hearing Obama speak on economic matters. The man is sooooo far out of his league with anything economics. The far left will vote for Obama regardless. Independents are surging for Romney and running away from Obama and I suspect he will lose a few Latino's and some Blacks over this gay marriage flip flop. I really think that when people actually enter the voting booth the ONLY thing on their minds (all but the far left nut jobs) will be their jobs , their homes and their taxes in which case Obama will be in big trouble.

ldslib, It's true, these numbers are still early in the race.
But it's late May and things are about to get interesting.
And considering the fact that the GOP nominee has just been settled after a bloody battle.
And Romney is alreay withing range of you precious Obama.
And Romney hasn't even chosen his VP yet. Which will almost certainly boost his support from Hispanics or women or both.
Do you think Obama is sitting in the WH as smug and confident as you are that he's done such a great job?
Then you are another of the fading Obama-bots.
And try pulling the mote out of your own eye while you help the rest of us Fox news/Limbaugh addicts (Though I never watch either) pull the sliver out of ours.

Obama went from tied with Romney in the previous Fox News poll to being ahead of Romney by 7 in the Fox News poll released today. So will we get an article about that poll too or only the ones where Romney is trending better (when in reality the race is in the same spot it was a month ago)?
