My heart goes out to the family and especially the kids. May God bless them with peace and comfort.
During prohibition, many law enforcement officers lost their lives as well. I have had to modify my thinking some but have come to the conclusion that we are losing the war on drugs. Just simply loosing it. We must try something different. We must take the big money out of it.
It simply cannot cost so much to produce this stuff. We should treat it like we do alcohol. Make it available in a state store at or near cost of production, have them sign for it and then strictly enforce laws when they abuse the use of it by endangering others, just as we do with alcohol. Its not a perfect system, but keeping it totally illegal and letting big money be made from its illegal distribution is not working. Don't you agree? Its just simply not working!
Perhaps before they are allowed access to it, they could be required to complete some educational course that will show them what they are letting themselves in for. Then they must choose for themselves and suffer the consequences. They will anyway.
