This is aboslutely "SUPER"! Now citizens lets take it state wide and nationally. Corrupt thieves have "no" place in government anywhere!
What is it with the corruption of these newer Utah County cities? Weird.
Looks like Ceder Hills is doing some spring cleaning. It is time for citizens to stand up against government corruption at the city, state and national level. Our elected officials should be held accountable for their actions and misdeeds. They are elected to represent the citizens of Utah and not the special interest groups. I appreciate the representatives who do stand up for their constituents but so often they are fighting a losing battle. Unforutunatly we don't always know who we have really elected until they are in office and the shenanigans start.
BIG money, such as the Super Political Action Commitees (PAC, SUPAC) are the only way a candidate can get a nomination and compete in an election for a State or National position. Obama and Romney are both far beyond the influence or reach of a citizen. Hatch is the same. Huge political ads are required.
So, how does a citizen make a difference regarding these powerful elected officials? the answer: We can't make a difference.
Lesser elected positions, such as the Cedar Hills mayor, MAY be inflenced by a citizen or group, but even that is not a certainty.
Get used to this, folks. The ethics and honor in our government is deteriorating just like it is in corporate America. Just like professional athletes cheat and steal in order to benefit themselves, folks in our governments are doing the same thing. I've seen folks in the company I work for lying and clawing at everything they can possibly can to benefit nobody but themselves. We are becoming this selfish. We are losing our sportsmanship, our honor.
All we can do is exploit this every which way possible. When we find it, we must briskly deal with it. Unfortunately, these kinds of criminals know that they can buy a year's time or so once they become suspected, so dealing with it takes so much time and money.
Hopefully the GC management will be gone as well. The GC was designed terribly in the first place and managed horribly ever since. They have an accountant running the pro shop for heavens sake! Do you think he can relate to most golfers? I don't think so.
It's a nice course and the super seems to know what's going on for the most part but they really need a professional group to manage that course. The city needs to let it go.
my 2 cents
It seems Cedar Hills is the new Eagle Mountain.
If your city councilman is a real estate developer or mortgage broker I would suggest locking the door, hiding the kids and keep two hands firmly on wallet.
Its just further evidence that our society has become corrupt at every level. There are still good people out there; of that I am convinced. However, it is the 'bad apples' that taint the taste of the pie - the American Pie that we have worked so hard to achieve.
Elder Marvin J. Ashton had it right. "The more important money becomes, the less important it becomes how one gets it." And so, we must, like Shakespear's Hamlet, ".... take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them." As much as we love Bugs Bunny and his friends, we do not want to adopt the crede "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." We must weed the garden for how ever long it takes.
