Cooke - Rampton 2012!
The best two Governors we've had in years were Cal Rampton and Scott Matheson I hope the people wake up and try a change this year!
Excellent news!
Unlike what some people may believe, during the six years I served on the Salt Lake City Board of Education (80s and 90s), the LDS church only once attempted to exert its influence and that was pertaining to LDS church property that abutted Ensign Elementary School. I was never approached by any LDS official or member in an attempt to influence my votes or propose any policy changes based on Mormon principles.
I am a conservative. In the Federal elections I will vote Republican. However Utah politics has been high jacked by right wingers and as such I cannot support Republicans for State Office. Gayle Ruzicka, president of the Utah Eagle Forum has garnered a group of Utah politicians who do not represent me nor do I believe do they represent Utah. When you have Carl Wimmer pushing a state gun instead of focusing on problems that are occuring within our State; we have a problem. When we have politicians trying to hide what the do and trying to limit our access to thier communications, when we have politicians saying they know better than I do what needs to be taught in the schools, when we have politicains trying to war with the federal government vs. working with them we have a problem. Utah politics needs to be reformed. Until then I will be an independant voice in Utah elections.
