I'm a delegate to the Democrats' convention and am undecided about the mayoral contest. I will say, though, that Romero has been quite aggressive in his campaign and even called me (a total stranger new to Utah politics) on the phone. At this point, both candidates appear to be competent, and I tend to think that a primary campaign, if it remains civil, would be good for the party.

"Two-term incumbent Mayor Peter Corroon, also a Democrat, is ending his time in office with a positive fiscal record and good pubic image. Democrats see that as an opportunity to follow on."

I don't think that is the "image" that Mayor Corroon has portrayed.
