All the VP betting stories are just an outsiders way to try an influence a pick! If Mitt Romney needed a candidate like Santorum he can do better!
Mike Huckabee would be a real Evangelical Conservative which is the wing of the vote Sanorum was getting. However, Mike Huckabee is more personable, has multi terms as a successful Governor and has a better more established relationship now with Governor Romney!

There are numerous choices to be vetted! Plenty of Experienced Republicans to be a VP choice! But every single one of them need to ready to be attacked by Obama and his surragotes as he has no successes to run on!

I personally don't see how that could happen. Santorum would have way too much back pedalling to do after calling Romney the "worst possible candidate" to go up against Obama.

Right or wrong... that statement pretty much burned that bridge. Just like Hillary and Obama... they can't go on the same ticket after certain things have been said. It just becomes too much of a distraction and something for the oposition to pick at without even having to say it themselvs.

I don't think it matters who the VP is... Republicans don't stand a chance this election. Obama was setting up his second term from day_one. Everything Congress passed was intentionally delayed from taking affect until AFTER his re-election (when he would "have more freedom"). Obama supporters from LAST election sorta have to vote for him again, because everything he promised them is PENDING and doesn't go into affect till AFTER the election... They pretty much have to RE-elect him to find out if it will work or not.

The gains made so far are in jeopardy if he doesn't win... for Democrats this is a MUST win.

Pundits, schmundits. I think a Romney/Santorum ticket is a wonderful idea. However I think Romney will hold off on announcing his VP choice until the convention.

i was skimming the article at first and noticed that "Madonna" was being quoted. i had to do a double take to realize who was really being quoted.

i didn't think the desnews would really aim that low :D

Yeah, Santorum kinda shot himself in the foot. He should have just backed Romney like he did four years ago and then maybe he would be a possible running mate. Too late now!

Romney will need help to sure up his own party. His VP choice will be made based upon need going into the general election. We all know this....I'm just curious to see what direction he goes based upon what he sees as his biggest weakness.

All the Democrats would have to do is play the tapes of them slamming each other.

One thing about who Romney chooses, he/she will be vastly superior to the current vp.
Rubio would eat Biden alive in a debate, as would most of the top vp selections.
Once his vp is announced, things will get interesting.

Santorum has burned his bridges.

I would love Ryan, Christie or Rubio. Ryan and Christie are both terrific--favorites among conservatives and either one would make a great pit bull which is what the VP candidate has to be. Rubio is loved among conservatives, bright, charming, a product of the American Dream and would help bring in Florida as well as hispanics in other states.

Any of these choices would be great.

Well, call me niave, but I think Santorum would be a good choice. He has the backing of Evangelicals and he is more vice-president material right now. As far as the mutual bashings are concerned, they could say that they may have their differences but together they will make the best possible combination for America exactly because of what each knows that the other doesn't. They can support each other and make up for the lack in one another. All they would have to do is support one another. For instance, when Santorum said that Romney was the worst possible candidate to run against Obama, he may have been right, but at the same time, Santorum might be the best posssible candidate against Obama. Together they might just pull off getting rid of this horrid administration. I guess the question is, would he run because his daughter is so ill?

It does not matter who his VP is. Mitt Romney is not going to be the next President(maybe an LDS Mission president).
The man forgets the statement he made last year, last month, last week. He cannot make up his mind. He is totally out of touch with the middle class (listen to his stories of horses, cars, houses, a "buddy" of owners of Nascar). He has alienated women( just check out what he said last month and years ago). He was the originator of Obama's health care plan. He just "Loves" his immediate locality, bringing out his best at presenting himself as a silly, insincere, phony individual. He has worked and will work for the 1%, as he so frequently mentions.
Mitt Romney is simply a marvelously, seriously, wealthy, egotistical Conservative with no other job.

Wondering whatever happened to Condilica Rice?
Not that I knew much about her but she seemed more than adequate to me. The irony would be that as an experienced Woman of Color --- Obama trying to play the victim of race card would be foiled and adding the female strengths might be amazing?
Yet - like I said - I don't know much about her : /

"It does not matter who his VP is. Mitt Romney is not going to be the next President(maybe an LDS Mission president)."

I'm pretty sure you were one of those saying the GOP would NEVER nominate a Mormon because of the hateful right wing. (Maybe you weren't one of those, but there are several who made that prediction.)

Mitt Romney is going to be such a stark difference on knowledge of the economy to Barack Obama that he will win on that issue alone. Obama has no record to run on. You know it. I know it. Obama and his people know it. And so, in the midst of the 8% unemployment and a weak economy, Obama is focused on making Romney look out of touch and drumming up a supposed 'war on women.' He has no solutions to the current problems and therefore will not be re-elected.

Romney is going to make a great president.

Sorry folks, I'm a Republican, and this is how I see it. Obama will eat these guys alive in their 3 debates. The 2012 Veepstakes, 2 possible VP picks for Mitt Romney, either Ron Paul or Rand Paul his son. That's all the RNC has. That's sad. Fox News said it was firing an employee who had anonymously posted videos and comments about behind-the-scenes workdays at the television network, leading media website Gawker to dub him the "mole." The posts became widely discussed on social media and in newsrooms across the United States because they purported to give a glimpse inside the news channel known for conservative personalities such as O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. Where will Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh get their "sound-bites" from now?. Women account for 92% of all job losses since Barack Obama took office. Yes, you read that right. Don't be fooled this is the real war on women. President Obama is right. He has spent the last few weeks talking about a "war on women" that is taking place across America. Rick Santorum caused this "war on women" along with Newt. My truthful views.

Barack Obama runs on wings of others. He likes to talk about Massachusetts Healthcare law to show Governor Romney in bad light. Obama used Massachusetts to help persuade, forcefully, to the Senate and House, that it was working there. However, with the many pages of the bill added to what Massachusetts had, Obama cannot say it is the same, in any form, except for the bandaids he uses to patch up holes, he would like to get rid of. He believes he can keep on spending and spending as the Russians did to get out of a mess. Russian politics and economics of truth don't go together. Obama is linked to social ideas as the Russians thought they could go by but their process failed and impacted many, many other countries. When you take individual desire away from the American process you will end up with the opposite of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Russia found that out. China has had some success with an economy but without the economic process set up for individualism, which China doesn't, their central government will not succeed. They don't have individual capability in China and we won't
