To LDS Liberal:
The LDSchurch does not condone abortion. If you pay for, participate in, or have an abortion, you will find yourself in a bishops office having your membership questioned.
===========
That is your opinion, it is selected reasoning/justification, and incorrect.
You misquote,
1.it “counsels” against such practice.
I suggest you read the LDS Church’s official policy regarding abortion.
The Church allows for abortions, and lists some of the possible exceptions.
2.Ultimately the churches leaves that CHOICE up to the Woman, her Doctor, and possibly extend to her Family/Church Leaders.
i.e., Not you, not your Political Party, not the Government.
BTW - Your opinion would have VICTIMS of rape and incest, and many good LDS OB/GYNs trying to save the lives of women all going to hell or excommunicated based on your political opinion - again, not in harmony with official LDS policy.
I support the church, to the letter.
I’m also a Liberal.
FYI – that policy only applies to “members” of the LDS church and not all Americans.
I repeat; “The Church has not favored
OR OPPOSED
legislative proposals… concerning abortion.”
Anything else, and Everything else – is political, not doctrinal.
Today’s Democrat party is not the same as the old one, sometimes called your father’s Democrat party. Today’s Democrat party is one in which Communists, socialists and the hard core radical left belong. What they represent is the destruction of the Constitution and implementation of the world wide socialist order. They seek a one world government with social elites in control. These are not my words but those of Communist leader Frances Fox Piven who said in last week’s Left Forum 2012 “Democrats, Socialists, Communists, Anarchists. We must all work together because of the huge task of transforming America and the world. We are all together.”
To LDS Liberal:
Don't assume you know me or my political affiliations, or my background! What you are doing is justifying behavior that is not in line with the gospel. The reasons you brought up in your last response for abortion are the exceptions that are rare and will never be outlawed or held against a woman within the church! What a shallow answer you had! This is no reason to legalize abortion! Wow! Sometimes I wonder how some LDS would make it if they had to live in the "mission field" and had to really "live" your religion!
