Oodles and Oodles of money, that very few are privy to=Resurgence
Such a prolific flip-flopper ... and the wall street money. Romney is neither good nor lucky, just well placed, and all things to all people. Just name an issue and Romney has been on all sides of it. Can you say "Blunt Amendment"?
Not skill.
Not luck.
Just money and vain ambition.
Good? Luck? It's all about money. If he succeeds in winning the nomination it will be a victory due to money, not ideas. The pocket book not the policies. For a guy who speaks about cutting spending and the size of government, he sure spends alot. He's good at using other peoples money to reach his goals. He's done it his whole career, both in and out of politics.
Romney is far more intelligent than Santorum, I like Santorum in some ways, but he does not hold a candle to Romney in preparation for the presidency, nor in education, nor in ability to govern.
Yes, it's all about money. And Mitt Romney is the only politician who has money. And he is rich, but also just got all his money by dumb luck too, right? Also, he is the ONLY politician who got money from Wall Street. Barack Obama would NEVER take money from Wall Street because he is pure as the wind-driven snow. And I'm sure the casino money that Gingrich is getting is also pure as the wind-driven snow.
I think it's neither strategy nor luck. Even though the Republican party has veered far to the right, your average Republican is not. I think this is a case of voting for the "lessor of two evils" so-to-speak. Romney is the only Republican candidate who can come close to beating Obama, and that's probably a stretch IMHO. Santorum or Gingrich would be trounced by Obama, and gas prices could hit $9.00 by Election Day and it still wouldn't matter. The average American electorate are NOT voting for politicians stuck in the Victorian age. In Utah where the guy who gets the caucus nomination who has an "R" by his name can get elected no matter how far right he is. But in the real world, out in the rest of the country, that is not the case. Romney will get the nomination through the simple process of elimination of the weakest candidates, and for no other reason. Once the American public really start taking a look at their options, I don't think Romney has a chance.
I'd say he's good. Just look at all the money he got for the Olympics. Most of it was government money, yet he takes the credit for it. I guess, in a way, he should get the credit for using the government to get what he wants, and then later blasting the government for spending money. Everyone needs to take a look at the money he was getting from the government for the Olympics and how he was getting it to get a clear picture of how a supposed moral person manipulates a situation for their own personal gain. Politicians are all the same!
Mitt's just lucky. Here's why the RNC "Still Yearns for Jeb Bush to Run." Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's victories in the Michigan and Arizona primaries haven't quieted talk of an alternative candidate. And much of the murmurs focus on former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. Many Republicans are pining for him, and many Democrats are fearful of him, thinking Bush can better connect with moderate and Hispanic voters than Romney can. Congratulations to Mitt Romney. He won in Arizona and Michigan. Romney is so excited, he almost loosened his tie. Gas prices are so high that Mitt Romney's wife can only afford to drive one Cadillac. Mitt Romney won a squeaker in Michigan last night. Today in Detroit he asked supporters to donate money to his campaign. Of course, the people pointed out that they live in Detroit and he's Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney won in Michigan last night. It was certainly a close race a real nail-biter or, in Romney's case, a real manicure. Newt Gingrich said that Mitt Romney is so closed-minded that he would have fired Christopher Columbus. Romney denied it, saying, "Are you kidding me? A man with three boats, that's my kind of guy." Mitt Romney came in first place in the Michigan primary, although he barely won. Incidentally, "barely one" is also the total number of votes Ron Paul received.
Romney beat his own record for flip-flopping this week by doing it in 3 1/2 hours on the same day! Nice.
He is not resurging. He barely won in his home state after massively outspending his rival in negative advertising.
This is an easy one.
1 - He has lots and lots more money than Santorum.
2 - Santorum has been taking stands lately that ONLY appear to the religious far right.

Romney isn't good. Romney isn't lucky. Romney has money, and has friends with money, and the election is being bought. NOBODY is worth anything this time around.
Well, just read the pathetic comments here from the naysayers! First of all, Mitt "had to win" in Michigan. Then when he did that, suddenly he "didn't win by a large enough margin." Give me a break. All the religious bigotry, expanded claims of either not "being a true conservative" or "flopping" on every issue multiple times, or "too rich and too good" claims have slowly settled to the point Mitt wins. Remember Perry, Cain, Huntsman, and Bachman? At least they all had the sense to quit when they lost. Paul hasn't won anything except the opportunity get a little press in each state, Newt is down-right scary, and Santorium would guarantee Obama another term. It's Mitt or nobody this time around and fortunately a few folks realize that. CNN and Fox News and the other liberals hope it isn't Mitt because they know he has the best resume for defeating Obama. Just watch....
I keep thinking "you can do anything in this world with money." I think he is ruthless. Wants to win no matter the cost. No matter how many he destroys in the process. I hate to be blunt, but that is how I see it. He had the opportunity to be great. He could have been much more positive, but chose to be negative. His attacks were brutal.
Politics these days are very negative and brutal. Perhaps he had little choice. I don't know. I have been disappointed.
@toosmartforyou: Frankly, I wouldn't mind of Romney became president, especially with the other republican choices. I'm just not drinking the Romney Kool-Aid like some of you are!
It's a sign of two things:
1)It helps to have billionaire golf buddies under the new Super-PAC rules. Romney has more than double the money of his opponents, and yet has many less actual donors. Bought and paid for by the 1%.
2)I believe the saying is "Even a blind squirel finds a nut!" His competition is so bad, people who in a good political field year wouldn't have made it past Iowa, let alone still be winning states, that all Mitt has had to do was let them talk themselves out of the race. I guess you can call that a skill on Mitt's part.
Mostly just a sign of what states are voting. He had the McCain endorsement and Michigan is one of his four home states. Super Tuesday states favor the not-Mitts.
There's also some luck. Santorum would've run much closer in both Michigan and Arizona if Gingrich would drop out.
lots of envy in this posts. everyone that has negatively posted against Mitt ought to do two things:
compare his lifetime accomplishments vs. his rivals and obama,
then compare your personal achievements. I'd say he's pretty good and the other examples probably much less than his.
Appears a lot of bitter and jealous people.
@ute alumni
I'd rather compare Romney's policy positions to the others seeing as that's what we're voting on them for and I find that I'd much rather have Obama than Romney, especially since a Republican congress (quite possible that they take the senate) would pass some insane stuff that I would want vetoed and I don't think Romney has the spine to do it.
