hopefully most democrats aren't the lunatic left following mikey moore. to follow him is the nuttiest thing a person can do.

The more I hear about Santorum, the more I hope he isn't the Republican POTUS nominee. It would guarantee four more years of President Obama. I really wish that Huntsman had continued his campaign. He was the only sure vote I had in my mind.

Once again, Mitt showing what a hypocrite he his. In a 2007 interview leading up to the 2008 race, he admitted that in 1992, he voted in the Democratic primary, as a registered Republican. Voted for the person he wanted the Republican's to face.

Do as I say, not as I do!

Gotta love Mitt!

Mitt, guess what, it doesn't matter which of you wins. Your already trailing the President in almost every poll. And that's with you guys being in the campaign spotlight for a good year, and the President not even campainging yet!

"operation hilarity." by our favorite filmaker and the daily Koz? Why do we allow dems to vote in the republican primaries and visa versa? This is a silly game we are playing with our country. Four more years of the spendthrift president and we will all be begging for the very food we eat.

Every campaign season we get these voter turnout stories from open primaries and every season they are meaningless- generally we can anticipate that for every D that might show up to tip the scales another R will show up just to make sure it does not happen- so things are cancelled out and that is what the evidence shows- no major influence with this but it does make a great story because we all love a conspiracy- that way we are not accountable for outcomes- some mysterious power is- love human behavior

"generally we can anticipate that for every D that might show up to tip the scales another R will show up just to make sure it does not happen"

You mean we might actually have another state where more Republicans vote than in 2008's primary? So far SC is the only one to have higher turnout this cycle.

Ummmm... Obama has been running for 2012 since the 2008 elections ended.

Democrats had better be careful. The GOP tried this stunt four years ago, in an attempt to get Barack Obama to be the Democratic nominee. Seems they thought Obama was the weaker candidate to run against John McCain. The only complication was that Obama went on to win the general election. If Dems don't want a President Santorum, they'd be smart not to help him get the Republican nomination.

@XelaDave, don't forget that all GOP primaries before April (with the exception of Florida's) will award delegates proportionally. Any crossover Democrats' votes will count, even if their candidate doesn't get a plurality of the vote.

By appealing to Democrats with the hopes they'll vote for him because he's less a threat to Obama's camapaign, I think it demonstrates that Santorum has no faith in himself--not to mention a certain degree of ruthless--scorched earth--type of politics that's pretty much cemented my vote against him.

Huntsman was great I agree. Although I'm hesitant to vote for a Mormon, Huntsman could put his religion aside and concentrate on the politics. And he's a very cultured man with a mixed family ... he'd be great for this country. Most importantly financially ... he has tremendous experience with the Chinese who are becoming the next biggest influence to the global economy.

Romney = Mormon to the T and it WILL affect his decisions and politics. Huntsman can put his beliefs aside and concentrate on the country as a whole ... Romney has no ability to do that. He will selfishly impose his morals on every single one of us in this country. That's not right.

Look, we all know cross-over voting in rival parties' primaries/caucuses occurs. Even in closed primaries and caucuses, it's a simple matter to affiliate and then change your registration. The point here that's interesting to me is that Santorum's campaign strategy matches up with Michael Moore and the Huffington Post! I'm thinking that's a red-flag if you're a Republican hoping your nominee can win in November!

Mitt gets a taste of his own medicine and he whines about it. When he and his Super Pac run millions of dollars in negative misleading ads against his rivals, use surrogates to bird dog their events and try to bully and slime their way to victory. Don't be shocked when they hit you back. Like a true bully, Romney cries when his victims swing back.

Actually Operation Chaos was an attempt to get Hillary Clinton to be competitive and drag the primary out longer.

I guess one vote of Romney's is equivelent to the robo calls from santorum and the other adds from obama and michael moore.
I guess that adds up.

The Republicans went into the Democratic primary to try to "bounce" Jim Matheson, and that was perfectly fine -- in fact I remember people in this site encouraging Republicans to do just that. Now, when they don't like the potential results in a Republican contest, they whine?! There's a word for that . . .

What? Me thinks you obsess too much about those rascally Mormons. Neither Huntsman nor Romney would push for the old moral standard in the United States. I think we are all to used to living life without God. They, like the dems would never impose their beliefs on the country. On the other hand, you and I will be beggars if the two parties continue to spend much more than we take in. And raising taxes is not the fix. Why, you ask? Because the politicos will always spend more than we give them.

If this is a Santorum process then he is what I thought about him since he signed up with the evangelicals when Governor Perry backed out of the race when the evangelicals wanted him for their nominee. Rick Santorum had to change his process in order to gain momentum from outsiders and the outsiders choosing him. It is ironic that Rick Santorum is the biggest conservative on the block now that he was selected by them. He would have to change his whole character when he gets nominated to show his real colors as conservative and not liberal Pennsylvanian.

I find it ironic that as a non-Mormon Utahn, I support Romeny (and before he dropped out, Jon Huntsman) who have left religion out of this campaign, and am disgusted by Santorum, a Catholic as I was raised but no longer active, for both his emphasis on religioun and his somewhat questionable ethics in this campaign. Shame on Santorum.

I totally doubt the acurracy of the commentors claim that Romney voted in democrats area and by his record as Gov in Mass. He will not impose his religion on public either.
I am disgusted at Rick S. low blow tactic! Not very Christian of him and not helping conservative cause either! Ugh !

Asking for a democrat vote, would be like asking an atheist to teach Sunday School.
