I also hope they all had a good race. That's what makes the sport exciting- or any sport, for that matter. If they all do their best, then it makes the contest that more incredible. Same goes for the election. I just wish the fans would look at the scenario as a whole, and may the best man win!
"...I have some friends who are NASCAR team owners."
Romney is so out of his element here... I know Romney is just being honest, but his constant stream of quips and slips about his wealth simply conveys that he's out of touch with the plight of middle class America.
I saw him over the weekend on TV talking about ALL the cars he owns -- he was trying to show that he buys American cars, but he talked about how his wife drives THREE Cadillacs, and that he had a couple of Mustangs. You'd think Romney's handlers would be coaching him about being careful about what he says. It is so natural for him to talk about his wealth, his rich friends, and his posessions... I guess he can't hide it, even when he's trying to come across as a regular, average Joe.
Don't get me wrong -- it's great that he's rich. But not everyone was born into wealth and was given the opportunities he was able to take advantage of. I worry that as president, thinking about the rest of us will be too beyond his sense of reality.
Have to agree with Baron, the knowing NASCAR team owners is once again out of touch with the voters he's trying to gain .... you keep shooting yourself in the foot Romney but at least you're being honest that you're not middle class like all your supporters are.
Also .... if you find these jokes humorous then you've sorely lacked real humor in your lifetime. If this is showing off your funny side and worthy of a newspaper article .... then wow!

I thought he said it was Two Cadillacs.
Are you sure you're not just campaigning for Santorum or Ron Paul?
Too bad Mitt didn't request a pump to pump up Santorums tires......you know so that the price of gas will fall...its part of Obama's energy policy!
