It seems that the media portray women as putting money first, which might be
true in some cases, but most women try to put other concerns first. Men so
often feel the need to satisfy their desires by purchasing recreational or
hunting equipment, and expect their wives to consider their purchases as
necessities.
It's disappointing to see how many people live beyond their means--going on vacations they can't afford, living in homes they can't afford, driving vehicles they can't afford, buying clothing they can't afford etc. Credit cards have made it too easy to purchase things without realizing what suffering that will accompany our frivolous purchases. I think it's wise to eliminate the use of all credit cards except one--for gas or small emergencies--that can be paid of at the end of each month. I believe women are worse than men when it comes to money-related problems because they see shopping as therapeutic. It's time we tried to remember that the pioneers didn't have the luxury of shopping 'til they dropped, nor the worry of enormous debt. We're way too spoiled now days and we are going to pay a bitter price if we don't get it our money problems
under control.
