The last state basketball championship for Dixie was not 1958. It was 1970. Please change your article.
Coach Melessa was the Pine View coach when they won State in the Burns Arena in 2007(?) That game was crazy. The stands had probably 2000 more fans than should have been there. It appears he has this Desert Hills team ready to go all the way again. Good luck Thunder!
@Hank. I remember it well. I covered that Pine View-Dixie championship game in 2007. I'll always remember when the arena staff moved both school's bands directly behind press row on the baseline to create more room in the stands. It was utter chaos everywhere. Great game too.
