In one of fifty states, about 35,000 young women get pregnant before they turn 20.

Combined with alcohol usage, drugs, poor exercise, and junk food,-- is it any wonder why healthcare costs are so high?

Just say No is the conservatives answer to everything. Abortion rates have fallen dramatically over the past several years because the public has become more educated on how to avoid unwanted pregnancies. All this has happened while America has become more accepting of pleasurable sexual activity. Ignorance leads to more unwanted pregnancies and abortions. It's really as simple as that.

Teens have been having sex for decades. Teens will continue to have sex for decades. This occurs in faith communities and faithless communities. In fact, the most religiously conservative communities seem to have the higher incidents of teen promiscuity and pregnancy. Obviously, no amount of preaching is going to change what teens do.

Unless and until you agree to face the actual circumstances in which you dwell, the result will be the same. Teens need comprehensive sex education and access to birth control.

We all have litigated this endlessly. It is time to face reality and deal with what we actually face.

unwanted teen pregnancies can be prevented by one simple thing, whether the teens, planned parenthood, or liberals like it or refuse to abide by it. Pregnancy is caused by one act (unless artificially induced); avoid that act until you are ready to have a child and it is impossible for you to get pregnant.

no amount of liberal pontification will alter that fact.

    case closed.

Unwanted teenage pregnancies are prevented by two things. Comprehensive sex education and easy, affordable access to contraception.

No amount of religious pontification will alter that fact.

    Case closed.

    Want to prevent abortion?
The best way to do this is by giving people the information they need to prevent pregnancy.

Comprehensive sex education. Cheap and easy-to-get birth control. Policies that help families like parental leave and subsidized childcare.

Humans are fallible. We do not live in a perfect world and people are going to make mistakes. Denying access to reproductive healthcare is like taking seatbelts out of a car and just telling kids to "drive safely". There will be accidents.
