Considering how much Ballmer paid for the team, one has to wonder about his
basketball and overall business savvy.$2 billion is 3 times what the
NBA had recently estimated the market value of the Clippers to be. In actuality,
he probably could've gotten the team for "only" $1 billion, which
would've been nearly 50% more than the estimated value of the team and
still a record amount paid for any professional team ever in America.But hey... what's an extra billion here or there between friends.The previous (and recently despised) team owners came out of this
smelling like a rose.
