I grew up in an area that was heavily populated by Christians who were born in Iraq and their descendants, at least from when I was about 10, before that they tended to live in Detroit and the near North-west suburbs, but starting in about 1990 we began to have an influx of Chaldeans into Sterling Heights.

These people are for the most part good, upstanding citizens, and have been the main providers of food sale services in much of Detroit for the last 50 years.
