If they could train them to eat horses and rabbits and juniper berries it might work.

But for the people of america and the west we need the resources of the open range to raise domestic cattle, sheep, hogs, turkeys, and deer as a food supplying millions of Americans with sustenance to live.

We need the food resources more than a small number of bears in need of 50 sq miles of habitat for each bear. It would be a shame if we had to keep culling the bears so people can live. Bears would clear out the livestock, deer, horses, ATV riders, oil men, campers, fishermen, national parks visitors, and river runners so its a toss up of priorities of survival of man or bears. We have mountain lions and a few bears already but I don't think the land is suitable as shared habitat with human needs.

Have you seen the size of the Uintah's? There is plenty of room, and plenty of prey for the few bears they want to bring back. I am all for it, I can see huge upside, and very limited downside, if any
