I once heard, that when Pete Rose was closing in on the all time hits record,
that a reporter asked him how many at bats he thought he needed to get the
record, and Rose answered that he needed only the exact same number of at
bats/attempts to beat the record. In other words, he beleived that he
"could" succeed in EVERY at bat attempt, so if he needed 35 hits he felt
he could do it in only 35 trips to the plate. The reporter was incredulous but
Rose further explained that to NOT have that "I can do it" attitude was
the key to failure in any endeavor. I've never forgotten that. The guy is one of the greatest baseball players of all time.Yet he
admitted he bet on baseball. Even his own team. What to do?Put him in the Hall of Fame.....but not until he dies.Justice is
served, on both sides.Good luck, Mr. Hustle.
Time to end the ban. Reinstate Pete.
