Years ago a coworker made an interesting observation. He was very middle-class
successful - good job, nice house, late model cars, boat and matching
his-and-hers motorcycles and living comfortably. It was election
season and a debate had been on and we were lightly discussing politics. He
said, "personally, I have generally done a little better under Republican
administrations, but I generally can't make myself vote for them because
they come across as horrible and mean."That which benefits me
may not be good for society as a whole.
The GOP and it's anti-science bias push people with intelligence away.
When I need an appendectomy, do I really care what my surgeon's stance on
Trickle Down Theory is?
People who care.
