Back in January 2004 the Bush administration ordered a Border Patrol survey of people captured while trying to sneak in from Mexico. It took 18 months to get it, but a group called Judicial Watch got the results.
Some 45% said they were crossing because they had heard Bush was offering an amnesty program and 63% heard media reports from within Mexico about possible amnesty.
So...is it any surprise that with all this talk of amnesty coming from the Obama administration and other politicians that people are risking their lives to get here on the chance that they will get amnesty?
How many of these people would be trying to cross if they thought America was getting tough on illegal aliens?
We lack the political will to create an atmosphere of deterrence.

How is "child" defined? The article didn't say.

What is the maximum age of a child?

Is a child someone 18 years old or younger?

1.5 billion is not small potatoes. To put it in perspective, it's 3 times what Solyndra cost, (but only about 1/32 of what pensions to retired vets cost every year).

Still, when you're talking billions, that's serous money.

It is "Conservative" capitalists who benefit most from illegal immigration, because is equates to cheap labor. And even though these "Conservatives" may publicly PRETEND to be against illegal immigration, in reality, many of them are very much for it.

That's why it's so hard to stop.
