This is such a sad, devastating story. A young man killed for what? Ultimately,
the man who pulled the trigger is responsible but so many others contributed.
Does a 17 year old deserve to die for walking into a baited garage? Did the
shooter have other options other than firing a gun at an unknown target? We
need to take our country, our society back, from these extreme groups and laws
that contort a persons right to carry and use a gun. Just because acts like this
are becoming the norm does not mean they have to become accepted.
Let's revisit this. If the kid hadn't gone into the garage, nothing
would have happened. Why was he in the garage? Did he live with the guy and
the shooter made a dumb and tragic decision? OR was the kid up to something?
Sad he died. The shooter should have looked for other alternatives, but like the
kid that got stabbed in Stansbury, this appears to be a case of being in the
wrong place at the wrong time.Nothing wrong with using a gun to
defend life and property. Just make darn sure it is absolutely justified and a
Flashback--you don't always have time to be absolutely justified. My neighbor's wife was killed by a burglar while her husband hesitated
being absolutely sure about shooting him. Fortunately, the burglar was caught,
after just being released from prison.
FT--what others contributed, and why do you say the garage was baited?
