they may just let people get laid off and blame it on the president even though
they are in charge of the money for the road system and everything else. they
want the power of the white housen and will do about anything to get it.
I just want to remind everyone that when Obama first took office in 2009 he got
some 800 billion to do just this with the shovel ready jobs. I wonder where
that money went? And yet I read a story that some women is losing her house
over 6 dollars owed. And people complain about "Big Business" as being
the problem. Try the wastefulness of Big Government first, which no one seems
to ever be held accountable for.
I'm with you, happy2bhere.Remember all those construction signs that
explained the project was a stimulus job. Recovery Project - TIGER Grant blah
blah blah. Not to mention the federal motor fuel tax of 18.4 cents per
gallon collected for every gallon of gas pumped. And our government has
plenty of money for social justice projects. It seems that government at
all levels has forgotten their core purpose and spent the money elsewhere. Now they have their hand out for more indebtedness. This will not end well.
Hey Conservatives - Yes the Obama administration did complete some
infrastructure jobs that were funded back in 2009.And then three
years later, he beat Mitt Romney by a solid majority vote, and he's still
President, and still helping this nation.Happy2bhere - You say there
was government waste in that "shovel-ready" infrastructure-building
initiative.Where exactly? . . . Or are you just lashing out with
Obama just gave away billions for infrastructure in Africa, and spent 800
billion for shovel ready jobs here. Opps! The shovel ready jobs didn't
appear.What's with this guy?
Hey Worf -"Obama just gave away billions for infrastructure in
Africa . . ."Well yeah. That's called wise foreign policy.
How do you think world powers gain prestige and influence.China just
gave 20 billion to African nations too. Would you prefer that America lose
influence in Africa? That five billion dollars Obama pledged to
Africa was a reasonable consequence of reasonable diplomacy . . . A lot cheaper
than armed conflict.
Gary OYou and your liberal Democrat Obama supporters (which I am
glad to say are dwindling now that the American people are coming to their
senses about what a mistake Obama is) are the ones who have to account for 800
Billion dollars. What exactly did we get for all that money? You explain. And
by the way Gary O, seen the polls lately? It is coming apart for Obama.
$302, is that all it is? Parade magazine in their recent "what people
make" edition said joey biden was pulling in over $19,000 in social security
in addition to his salary as VP. if it's only $302, have joey pay for
it.GaryO,even BO admitted (or rather joked) that those jobs
weren't so shovel ready. There is some of the waste. how about a few
hundred million to study bugs' mating habits?but seriously,
people are driving less and cars go further on a gallon of gas. federal gas
taxes are supposed to fund the trust. Since it truly is a user fee, if we had
some assurance it would be prudently managed, I would not vehemently oppose an
increasein the federal gas tax. There's the rub, though, we can have no
reasonable expectation that the BO misadministration will prudently manage the
@GaryO:How much of that money will filter down to the people? What armed conflicts are you talking about?
