    If these people are dangerous, put them in prison. If not then they are reformed, so let them vote.

    Basically, Republican Gov. Branstad changed the law in 2011 by making restoration of voting rights to felons dependent on himself. That opened the door to a relative handful of people voting without realizing the law has changed. The Republicans will use the cases against these accidental voters to claim there is wide reaching voter fraud in the state.
