I love it. The Hungry Huskies, and the AAC in general, were underrated,
unappreciated, and disrespected right up to the last minute of the game when Big
Blue Nation was suddenly left scratching their heads. Louisville was ranked 5th
in the final AP poll, and was given a 4 seed, UConn ranked 18th and given a 7.
SMU was clearly a better team than a handful of the first round losers, and were
left out. But Gampel Arena is once again the College Basketball Capitol of the
World.UtahBlueDevil, your comment is rather funny, considering how
badly the ACC was passed by the Big East by the mid-80s. Even after luring
several schools away with football money, the old Big East teams not currently
in the ACC were still better than the beefed up ACC.
Chris BThe conference of champions had 3 members in the sweet 16
this year. When was the last time the conference you belong to had 3
teams in the sweet 16 in the same year? That means that there were 13
other members of the sweet 16 which belonged to other conferences, right? And,
if I am not wrong, 8 of those advanced beyond the conference of champions.
Apparently, according to you, they must have belonged to conferences of super
champions.I don't belong to a conference. I don't play either
basketball or football. Do you play either basketball or football? That is, do
you belong to a conference?

yarrlydarbYou're thinking of the girls team
Well, at least there is a small amount of consolation for Coach Rose and the
Cougars that the NC of the NCAA was the team that beat them, and that they were
leading the Huskies until the last seconds of the first half.
The first comment is rather funny, considering how hard UConn has tried to
become part of the ACC. The ACC took Louisville instead. Not a bad pick - it
gives Notre Dame someone semi close to home to play. But it would be
interesting to see how well UConn would do in the ACC full time.Conference re-alignment is changing things up. The next few years years will
be fun to watch.
So much for the prestigious Conference of Champions and the Southeastern. If I
am not wrong, UCONN doesn't belong, but it is the champion.
