Any sane person with reasonable cognation of reality would've realized when Obama ended the Space Shuttle program before it's intended time (to fund one of his additional social programs) that our options regarding involvement with the Space Station would be vastly limited and of secondary quality to our own program. As such, this kind of news isn't really so surprising.

The cutting edge scientific advancements that came regularly from the Space Shuttle program have slowed dramatically since the end of that program. And at needing to pay $71,000,000 per seat with the Russian program, we're not saving as much as Obama originally envisioned. All things considered, it continues to seem like a dubious decision in ending the Space Shuttle program prematurely.
