Regardless of extenuating circumstances, there is NEVER a valid reason for murdering a young child. The fact that it was premeditated and methodically carried out only makes it that much worse. A person like that (especially that child's parent) is sickening.

Nothing will ever bring that child back. But in a more fair world of retribution, this guy would be strapped in a seat, anchored down and dropped into the same cold creek to receive the same ugly fate that he forced upon his baby daughter. At times, an eye for an eye seems applicable. This is one of those times.

Christ made it abundantly clear that those who abuse little children will be severely punished in the hereafter... a fate worse than anything this world could impose. ("Better that a millstone be hanged around their neck and drowned in the depths of the ocean" is especially allegoric to this situation.)
