I am not a catholic, but I would say that he is a good man. I don't think
he does it to look good. of course, being such a famous position, there will
always be public relations. Like he said, he is just a man and we shouldn't
expect him to be perfect. I think many people in the world want something
hopeful and good. The Pope has tried to help people see what is important in
life! We are happier when we care about each other. When he gives hope to even
those who are not Catholic, you must admit that he is doing something right. I
pray that God does direct him and that all goes well for him.
I believe the hype for the Pope is contingent upon opening up certain
"rights" anticipated by certain "groups" within the Catholic
Church. It is what the press is hoping for.
For the first time in my life, I find news of the Vatican downright
entertaining. You never know what to expect.
To be fair, this pope's predecessor was head of the modern-day inquisition
office who aided in covering up the abuse of thousands of children. The bar for
"Superpope" is thus not tremendously high.
