When you look at polls that show what the American people consider most important, those two, immigration and gay rights, are very low priority. Obamas team just wants to try to please as many people as possible leading up to the Novermber election. The economy and jobs are of course what's most important to the average American.

h2b is probably right about the economy. So why did the House spend so much time on uselessly trying to revoke ACA over 40 times instead of working on jobs?
