When my kids were very young, we used to cry, "Here comes the song truck!" whenever the ice cream truck would hit our neighborhood. In their young minds, it made perfect sense that some nice person would drive a colorful van around town, playing tinkling music for everyone to enjoy. Then one day: "Dad! Did you know that the song truck sells ICE CREAM?!"

On the surface, it sounds nice in my own mind to suppose that when I have kids, I will be completely transparent with them about my diet that I insist balances healthy eating with a sweet tooth and moderate, regular exercise.

It'll probably be as simple as going to school for four years and getting a degree without factoring in full-time work, or taking time from that work and school to drive across a major city to fulfil my duty as a home teacher to 100% every month.

"McDonalds is closed". Yeah, I expected that one, but "Did you know the music truck sells ICE CREAM!?" will probably stick with me all day. That was good.
