Is this another example of the liberal media's war on religion?

Does anyone even care about this award?

Good choice, based on that alone.

Perfect comment, Agreed, Thanks!

@FT, I don't particularly care, it's just been streaming on the Internet the past few days.

I am LDS, and I love to follow (read about)this wonderful man in the media! He doesn't mince words, but the reason things are taken in context is because he actually teaches by living/demonstrating everything he preaches and is very in touch with serving the way Christ served--out among the people. He is reminiscent of Mother Teresa, except of course, he is leading the entire Catholic Church from the Vatican (which is out of his comfort zone because of how decadent it is). My #1 choice, hands-down! This Pope is going to be someone who will be going down in history books as one of most Christ-like Popes they've ever had! There is much to be learned from this compassionate man and his example!

@JoeBlow – “Is this another example of the liberal media's war on religion?”

Very nice… and pithy!

But this Pope will likely make the religious right uncomfortable for years to come. Those folks much prefer the god of the OT or Revelations – lots of judgment, smiting, damning of sinners and wrath.

This Pope seems much more a sermon-on-the-mount sort of guy who seems determined to humbly teach Christians how to be Christians.

Good luck Frank, and may the flying spaghetti monster be with you…

Obviously you cared enough about it to make a comment.

To FT at 8:29:

"If there is anything virtuous, lovely, of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things..." as long as "these things" are not Catholic, Buddhist, Baptist or Muslim.

A very deserved honor!

A great man for troubled times, may the force be with him and his work.
