With Hawaii and Illinois, it will be 16 down, 35 to go. It is coming to Utah,
And lawsuits currently filed in at least 20 other states. I
can't wait til SCOTUS gets cases related to the Full Faith and Credit
clause. There's no excuse for states to continue ignoring the US
Constitution in this way.
No matter how many states so-called 'gay marriage' passes in, I
can't help but feel that it still equates to letting certain individuals
have the right to climb up the playground slide the wrong way, creating more
confusion and chaos.
If it is coming to Utah, what a shame. Just because the whole world may choose
something and vote it in, doesn't mean it's correct. As a matter of
fact, ancient scriptures teach us that when the voice of the people (i.e. the
majority) choose unrighteousness, then is the society ripe for destruction. We will see who has what rights in the day when our Savior comes to
earth to take His rightful place. For me personally, I am not saying
the GLBT's are not equal. I'm just saying that based on the behavior
of homosexuality, same-sex unions do not pass the test to be given the SPECIAL
rights and privileges of a heterosexual marriage.Yes, things are
changing fast. Some of the pro-GLBT messages sound just like Book of Mormon
wicked philosophies. The signs of the times seem to be popping up everywhere.
There are problems everywhere: the family, natural disasters, education. Look
at the statistics, especially for in-tact homes. This is the best of times, the
worst of times. We have lawmakers calling good bad, and bad good. And
constituents egging them on.
@Cookie999 --"No matter how many states so-called 'gay
marriage' passes in, I can't help but feel that it still equates to
letting certain individuals have the right to climb up the playground slide the
wrong way, creating more confusion and chaos."You're
entitled to your opinion, of course. But ask yourself this: in what
way do gay couples act any differently than any other infertile couples?@rw123 --"I'm just saying that based on the
behavior of homosexuality, same-sex unions do not pass the test to be given the
SPECIAL rights and privileges of a heterosexual marriage."I'll ask you the same question I asked Cookie: in what way do gay couples
act any differently than any other infertile couples?"Look at
the statistics, especially for in-tact homes."Yes, look at those
statistics. The divorce rate is over 50% in the US, and the marriage rate is
falling -- yet some folks want to deny marriage to people who WANT to form
stable committed relationships? How does that make any sense?
@Contrarius*yet some folks want to deny marriage to people who WANT to
form stable committed relationships? How does that make any sense?*Makes plenty of sense. Just because proper marriage is taking a nose dive,
that's no reason to substitute it with an imitation. Society is
disintegrating at an increasing pace.We are all born with a
conscience, something tells us what's right and what's wrong. Unless
it is seared or ignored till it no longer works, one should be able to recognize
good versus bad. Plus, we have enough teachings that we can't condone
homosexuality and remain blameless. It seems the comments against
GLBT are getting fewer and fewer, as if it's a lost cause. It is not. The
constitution is a great document . . . . as long as it is interpreted correctly.
When we take neutral stand we allow that which is wrong to triumph. Perhaps lower-level animals participate in same-sex relations, but we are not
lower-level animals. We are human beings, with a conscience and a soul, with
unlimited potential if we live up to the principles on which that potential is
@Contrarius:I have read your other posts, and I decline to answer your
arguments at this time. Have a nice day.
Homosexuality is biological abnormal and society should do nothing to condone
it. People can choose to live contrary to biological law but society will suffer
for it. Homosexuality is a perversion of normal biology. Homosexual behavior can
never ever result it the reproduction of the human species.
Marriage equality in Hawaii would have been in place a decade ago if not for the
political interference of the LDS Church. This is long overdue!
@Cookie999 --"I have read your other posts, and I decline to
answer your arguments at this time. Have a nice day."That's
the sweetest capitulation I've seen in a long time. Thank you. :-)@jacknba --"Homosexuality is biological abnormal and society
should do nothing to condone it. People can choose to live contrary to
biological law but society will suffer for it. Homosexuality is a perversion of
normal biology. "Many many nonhuman species out in nature
practice homosexual behaviors. It is easy to find in nature -- therefore
it's natural.Just a few examples:1. In bonobo
chimps, more than half of all sexual activity is between females.2. In
giraffes, 90% of all male sexual activity is between males.3. In black
swans, 1/4 of all pairs are males.God designed all those animals
just as much as he designed humans.Would God have designed animals
to do something that was "biologically abnormal" or "contrary to
biological law" or a "perversion of normal biology"? Why would he
have done such a thing?"Homosexual behavior can never ever
result it the reproduction of the human species."So what?
Reproduction is not a requirement for marriage.
@rw123 --"that's no reason to substitute it with an
imitation."Nobody is "substituting" anything with
anything else -- imitation or not.Same-sex marriages will ALWAYS be
in the vast minority. Nothing will "substitute" for opposite-sex
marriage -- we are only adding on here, not removing anything."one should be able to recognize good versus bad. "Right.
And my conscience tells me that it is good to honor love and commitment
regardless of gender. My conscience also tells me that it is bad to
deny anyone their equal rights as guaranteed by our US Constitution based solely
on their gender."Plus, we have enough teachings that we
can't condone homosexuality and remain blameless. "Whose
"teachings"?? The teachings of the Old Testament -- which were replaced
by the New Testament? Or the teachings of Paul -- who also supported slavery,
taught that women were inferior to men, taught that it was better to remain
single than to marry, and taught that nobody should ever get divorced?Jesus himself never said a single word against homosexuality."Perhaps lower-level animals participate in same-sex relations"Why would God have created "lower-level" animals to widely
engage in homosexual behaviors?
@worf --"Cannot justify!"You need to be a little
bit more specific. Who cannot justify what, and why?
@Contrariusier--you can answer that. The reason you post is because you're
justifying what you know is wrong.Alot of people do that.
@worf --"You can answer that." I can answer that
in many ways -- but you won't like most of em. ;-)You
can't justify bigotry. You can't justify violating the US
Constitution. You can't justify denying equal rights to all
citizens.Would you like me to continue?"The reason
you post is because you're justifying what you know is wrong."Suuuuuuure, worf. You just keep telling yourself that.
Hawaii would have had gay marriage sooner if not for the interference of the LDS
church. This, is true. All the millions of dollars in
Prop 8, DOMA and now gay marriage is in Hawaii, regardless. How many
hungry could have the millions of dollars donated against gay marriage fed this
November? Priorities people….
We live in Hawaii and attended the rallies and testified before the Senate
hearings. The overwhelming majority of testimony at the hearings and people at
the rallies were AGAINST SSM! The people in the state of Hawaii clearly wanted
this put up for a vote. Unfortunately, Clayton Hee and our other
representatives chose to ignore their constituents and instead listened to
mainland special interest groups. They also chose to ignore the vote of the
people in 1998. Because of that, there is a lawsuit that might stop this.
@RosaMaria --"The overwhelming majority of testimony at the
hearings and people at the rallies were AGAINST SSM! "That's only because the churches organized the anti-gay voters.Remember, two separate statewide opinion polls showed that Hawaiians APPROVE
of gay marriage by more than 20% over those who disapprove."The
people in the state of Hawaii clearly wanted this put up for a vote."No, the organized anti-gay church members wanted it put up for a vote.
That isn't the same thing at all."They also chose to ignore
the vote of the people in 1998." The vote of the people in 1998
created a constitutional amendment which specifically gave the LEGISLATURE the
power to define marriage for Hawaii. Abercrombie is following the state
constitution that the PEOPLE voted on."listened to mainland
special interest groups. "Remember, the native Polynesian
culture had no problem with homosexuality until the "mainland special
interest groups" (Christian missionaries) got to Hawaii. If you're
native Hawaiian, your ancestors would have supported this bill. And if
you're not native Hawaiian, then you're one of those "mainland
special interest groups" yourself.

@RosaMaria;Does the LGBT community get to vote on your marriage?
No? Then you don't have the right to vote on ours; if you think otherwise,
you should go read your bible and see exactly what it was Jesus had to say about
