This is the downside of cutting off my Cable TV and saving $100/month in SoCali. I miss the intellectual stimulation of programs like 'Jeopardy'.

"All of the questions were answered correctly by the contestants."

Don't you mean "All of the answers were questioned correctly..." It was Jeopardy, after all

Many years ago they had a question about the name of the person with the trumpet depicted in the statues atop Mormon temples. Someone got it right but pronounced Moroni with a "short i" at the end instead of the long "i" making him sound like an Italian angel. How things have changed!

'Jeopardy' question for $1000:

Question: What organization is the only true succession of the Restored Gospel?
Answer: The Church of Jesus Christ [WHQ: Monongahela, Pennsylvania].

Correct!

This is another great way to give the Church exposure to others in the world through social media! I appreciate that simple, basic questions were used to inform people with a better understanding about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. How classy of Jeopardy to research the questions with a qualified spokesperson. Great article!

I believe there were only five questions on the TV show, not six, as suggested in the opening paragraph. If I read the article right, there was an additional question online? But Jeopardy categories have only five questions on the game show. Still, I'm sure Ken Jennings would have run the category.

Michigander, why do you think this organization "is the only true succession of the Restored Gospel"?

kvnsmnsn,

Because of the church historical evidence (presidency succession), the pure doctrinal evidence (founded upon the KJV and BOM only), and most importantly, the sound revelatory evidence (gifts of the Spirit and signs manifested in the Church today). You too, kvnsmnsn, can know the truth of these statements by asking the Lord with a sincere and humble heart (acting no deception) about The Church of Jesus Christ [WHQ: Monongahela, PA]. He will answer you!

Michigander,

How do you know that your spiritual witness is superior to the spiritual witness felt by other religous groups such as the Church WHQ in Utah or the Jehovah's Witnesses who think they are the one true Church?

I remember a time a long time ago when the same clue was given and the contestant answered,"Who is Gabriel?" I did several double-takes and was irritated that Alex accepted the answer as correct. I've wondered ever since if he ever corrected the impression.

He already has. I asked God with a sincere and humble heart, acting no deception, about the LDS Church Spencer Kimball presided over at the time. The answer I got is the reason I am a Latter-day Saint today.

It doesn't matter whether or not Michigander's "spiritual witness" is superior to the spiritual witness felt by the mentioned other groups. Those other groups have no more business imposing their answers from God on Michigander than Michigander has any business imposing her/his answer on them. All any one person can do is trust God to answer that person's question; s/he would have to be an idiot to act in faith that some other person had gotten a "superior" answer that s/he should believe in.

J.D.,

Because there is also the witness of the scriptural evidence - the most important witness anyone can have. The doctrines of both the JWs and the LDS have gone far astray from the truth- the JWs from the KJV and the LDS from the KJV and the BOM. The Church of Jesus Christ [WHQ: Monongahela, PA] is the only church on the face of the earth that has the 100% correct interpretation of both books and ordinances (sacred practices) and the priesthood authority to administer therein.

kvnsmnsn,

Sorry, but there are tens of thousands who have received a witness that what you are saying is not valid at all - the greatest witness being that of scripture - the KJV and the BOM.

I happen to believe that if one recognizes that the way to get a kernel of truth to use as the foundation for one's own personal theology is to ask God a question, ready to base the whole rest of that one's life on whatever answer God provides, and if that one asks that foundational question, that one can count on God answering that question. Are you saying that scripture trumps that? If so, why should I believe that it does? And, in fact, how does one determine what books are scripture in the first place, if one cannot find out directly from God what they are?
