@Parry is a Farce - you should be DesNews sports writer with all of the research you just did. I agree that Region 4 is somewhat confusing. However, a win by Herriman over Pleasant Grove will give some clarity to the situation. There are really on 4 realistic scenarios for the final rankings...2 of the scenarios have Herriman #1 and 2 of the scenarios have Herriman tied for #1. Most of the scenarios have Riverton #2. Most of the scenarios have Pleasant Grove and Lone Peak in the #3 or #4 spots...with Lehi and American Fork sneaking into the #4 spot in a couple of special scenarios.

In the end I believe it goes Herriman, Riverton, Lone Peak, Pleasant Grove.

Herriman plays and beats Northridge/Layton loser to match up with Brighton.
Riverton plays and beats Northridge/Layton winner to match up with Bingham.
Lone Peak loses to Syracuse and Syracuse matches up with Alta.
Pleasant Grove plays and beats Davis to match up with Jordan.

Look for Herriman to pull off an upset of Brighton.
    Riverton loses to Bingham.
    Syracuse beats Alta.
    Jordan beats Pleasant Grove.

My final 4 is Herriman vs Jordan and Syracuse vs Bingham

Digger you will be surprised when you see the "Cuse" play again. They had a few bumps to start the season and where still getting use to playing together as full team. Yes they got beat by Davis and by no means Did they get dominated by Davis. If you saw the game on TV you would have saw a back and forth game. Ask Davis now if they would want a rematch? They are a competitive team and have some awesome players on both sides of the ball. "Cuse" is a different team now from when they first played week 4. The "Cuse" quarterback is back and healthily and is slinging the around as well as running. Before you start crowning a state champ in week 9 there is still a lot of football left and the "Cuse" hasn't peaked yet, they have plenty of football left in their tank. I hope region 1teams are overlooked again this year just like last year. The other stat to look at is how many rushing yards they have given up so far. Do your homework. Go region 1!!!!!!!!!!

Titans, the brackets are set up so no two teams from the same bracket can play one another until at least the semi-finals. It's set up like this for the number one team from each region:

    First round
    Region 1 #1 vs. Region 4 #4
    Region 2 #1 vs. Region 3 #4
    Region 3 #1 vs. Region 2 #4
    Region 4 #1 vs. Region 1 #4

    If the higher-seeded teams advance:

    Second round
    Region 1 #1 vs. Region 2 #2
    Region 2 #1 vs. Region 1 #2
    Region 3 #1 vs. Region 4 #2
    Region 4 #1 vs. Region 3 #2

Again, if the higher-seeded teams advance:

    Third round (semis)
    Region 1 #1 vs. Region 4 #1
    Region 2 #1 vs. Region 3 #1

Okay wait, I thought it was region 1 and region 4 playing each other. Then region 2 and region 3. If it is like that wouldn't it mean that Syracuse-Bingham rematch would be in the finals. I could be wrong, i guess someone should explain how the bracket works because i sear that region 2 and 3 are on the other side and could only play a region 1 and 4 team in the finals.

We'll see when they finally get to play against real opposition again. The biggest team they beat so far is northridge and Im still not sold on that team, so to say they could even hold a candle to Bingham again seems a bit extreme. Lets see them beat Alta first.

Now the other team in Region 1 I like is the "Cuse". I know they aren't the same team from last year that made the run to the championship to get beat pretty bad. These kids are a great group of players as well. Their starting Quarterback was hurt bad at the first of this year and had a hard time moving the ball at the first of the season. I think they have found their stride and are going to be a scary team come playoff time. The defense looks good from D-line to the safety's. They are finally playing "Cuse" kind of ball. We take games 1 at a time for now. I know Bingham and "Cuse" could meet at RES in the semis, this would be a really great game. Bingham has a great running game and "Cuse" has a great run defense. Something has to give again at RES. One more thing to remember. "Cuse" was the last team to beat Bingham last year so they know how to play against the big boys. They got rolled in the championship game by a junior college team playing high school ball. Count on it.

This is going to be some great playoff games this year. As I have watched this season unfold we have some teams that are good and others that will surprise us this post season. I sat and watched Bingham and Jordan game. Scott Nickols is a stud. Now granted Jordans defense isn't what it was a year ago. They reallt do miss having Savini in the middle. Bingham has some big boys up front and can really open up the holes for nickols. I also like binghams db's, very active group of kids. I think Brighton is a good team as well. They have size, speed and some great athletic guy that play good ball. I don't know much about region 4 other than Herriman looks good and big. I am more familiar with region 1 and the two top teams. I like Davis and the size of their D-Line. They are a consistent team that just plays football. Nothing fancy I don't think they have a trick play, just solid. Davis will match up with most teams in 5A and can handle the big boys from SLC and Utah County. It should be fun to watch.

Bingham and Syracuse would play in the semi's. It'll Brighton Jordan or Davis playing in the finals. Keep in mind Alta has a very good offense. Good enough to beat syracuse on the road? ....maybe, it'll be something to watch.

Okay, yes i agree that Brighton and Bingham are going to do well in the playoffs but to say jordan or alta... Now thats pushing it. Alta is doing horrible this year, and i can hardly see them beating syracuse. Now jordan beating davis i can see. They are really really over-rated. They have played a lot of easy teams. I totally see bingham taking it but Jordan and alta is a no go. They are not as good this year and i say the final four is Bingham and brighton and syracuse and.... whoever comes out of region 4. They have been up and down lately, its crazy. But depending who comes out of region 4, i can see a bingham-syracuse rematch in the finals.

Anyone else feeling like it could be and all region 3 rice eccles? I mean if Alta plays well against Syracuse and Taylorsville, Jordan can absolutely beat Davis and Brighton Bingham have an easy path. ......hmm I think the restructuring is a little lopsided in football.
