In undeveloped countries there are certainly instances of mothers passing this disease to children, or blood transfusions passing to an unknowing recipient.

In the United States these cases are very rare and the majority of the time it is passed through wrong and immoral choices. If people would only make correct and moral decisions we would see the percentages of people with the disease plummet.
