Not a primary reason for the article, but it did report that the House had just approved funding for guard and reserves. That having been done, now who will deny them their money?

The Capitol and White House on lockdown!

Now, that is the BEST idea I have heard in the last three days.

The President and Congress should all be on lockdown 24/7, guarded by some of the Federal employees they have put out of work, with bread and water delivered three times a day, until the budget mess is resolved. Keep them there until the Community Organizer-in-Chief and every one of the entitled, self-serving "adults" in Congress can act responsibly, confer like reasonable people, compromise, each of them let go of some of their pride and their pet agendas and pet rivalries, and do what is best for America.

Well, a couple of days ago, when the tea party figuratively held a gun to the heads of the Senate and the President and demanded to get their way, I wondered when some wacko with a gun would do it literally. It appears we've reached that point. Hope you're pleased with the results of your little escapade, Mike Lee.

Uh Ford...apparently the "wacko with a gun" is the DC cops, who fired all the shots. Unless you're pitching a ban on all Black Lexus cars.

Isn't it a bit premature to be blaming Mike Lee for the actions of some woman fleeing from the DC cops? Or, do liberals always know the truth about everything before any facts come out?

Will you apologize and "unring the bell" if it turns out the driver killed by cops was an Obama supporter mad at the House for not funding Obamacare? Or just a crazy person?

Be patient and wait for the facts. It cannot possibly take as long as trying to get facts about what happened in Benghazi, or to find the Rose Law firm billing records, or Obama's college transcripts.

Looks like our friend in Provo is misinformed. Either that or the facts were obstructing a good rant. Judging the actions of others without using facts must be an example of 'liberal tolerance' that our friends on the left are so famous for.

You'll have to keep wondering. All reports are that the woman was armed only with a black Infiniti.

Which brings up the next liberal cause -- how long are we going to permit unregulated "assault" Infinitis?

No one needs a black Infiniti, with a high capacity tank.

If they have any sense of consistency, liberals will soon be making shrill demands for "reasonable restrictions" on Infiniti color and gas tank capacity.

This was likely a person running from the cops for an unknown reason, maybe an expired license. She was clearly not threatening anyone and was killed by overzealous cops. She had her 1 yr old daughter with her and appeared to be running for her life. Classic case of cops shooting first and asking questions later. Reminds me of the recent case in West Valley where a cop shot an unarmed female because he thought she might try to hit him with her car. Cops need to be help accountable every time they pull the trigger.

Re: "Cops need to be help [held?] accountable every time they pull the trigger."

They are. EVERY police-involved shooting results in an investigation and, if the cop is wrong, appropriate discipline.

Makes me wonder if mindless liberal posters would welcome the same level of scrutiny applied to them every time their labor causes some untoward result.

Here's betting that if it were so, they'd be a little more considerate of America's finest -- who we pay so reluctantly and so poorly to protect us from the worst and most violent of our society.

I'm not a liberal, just seen way to much police abuse. This is not a partisan issue, they shot and killed an unarmed woman with a baby in the car with her. Videos clearly show that one cop had his head inside the passenger window, obviously seeing the child, and still fired on the vehicle as she sped away. Shoot out the tires, do a better job of trapping the vehicle, or any other non-lethal alternative is better than this. They saw she was not armed yet killed her anyway. Every cop that fired on that vehicle should lose their job.

Re: "Shoot out the tires, do a better job of trapping the vehicle, or any other non-lethal alternative is better than this."

Spoken like we've come to expect callow, pro-crime liberals, completely unencumbered by the slightest knowledge of reality, to speak.

The films clearly show someone using her vehicle as a weapon, attempting to kill clearly identifiable police officers, correctly effecting a valid arrest her for a clear and intentional violation of the law, who then flees from one known sensitive, high security exclusion area, packed with innocent bystanders, toward another.

Shooting out a fleeing felon's tires is a laughable and extremely dangerous impossibility. It never works, but will endanger innocent bystanders a mile or more away. Reality is, a felon using a vehicle as a weapon can only be safely stopped by targeting the felon, not the vehicle.

That's reality. And, if we insist on firing "every cop" we've hired to protect us every time they do so, we're rooting for the bad guys to win, not the good guys.

I hope those police that shot that woman can sllep with what they have done. Postpartum depression is a very serious mental health problem. Couldn't they have used a stun gun or some other means? The woman was not armed. She was sick. Can the police do anything but kill?
