You think the Associated Press guy (not some BYU or local dude) is either of these? Not likely.

One of the most successful coaches in recent history drops his quarterback who did terrible before he arrived and replaces him. Let's consider the history of replaced quarterbacks making good in other locations... Just recent history looks bad... We've got Cassels, Matt Flynn, John Beck, Matt Leinart, all have not impressed. Alex Smith is the exception not the rule, so it was a gamble.

Go Chiefs. Laughing at the 49ers for letting him go and go Smith.

Evidence of a bad decision by the 49ers. Go Alex! Keep proving them all wrong.

"Chiefs QB Alex Smith making Dorsey gamble pay off"

Only to the uninformed or the Hater could the decision to trade draft picks for A. Smith ever be called a "gamble."

Go Alex, Go Chiefs, Go Utes!

After my beloved Chicago Bears I became a Chiefs fan this year because of Alex Smith. I am glad he has, after his struggles those first few years in San Francisco, is showing that he is an NFL quarterback and a dang good one at that. Way to go Alex!

Once Alex has a better grasp of this offense, he will go downfield. He did so in his 2nd year in Harbaugh's system. I love seeing Alex succeed and I'm a Die Hard Utah Utes Fan.
