I'm glad Lee will be one-term and gone.

Mike Lee is an embarrassment to the state of Utah!

Thank goodness there are a few sensible Republicans in the world!

KSL had an excellent program on ACA last night. All indications seem to be that it will work well and will actually DECREASE costs in the long run if it is allowed to proceed as planned.

That must be terribly frightening to those like Lee and Cruz who fear it will actually work.

@OneOldMan

Those who passed ObamaCare want it to fail. The "real goal" of ObamaCare is to force everyone into a "Single Payer System." Which is what they want.

Here is what is going to happen.

More and more "part time" workers.
Huge increases in insurance rates for everyone.
Firing of employees to reduce work forces to under 50.
Employers dropping their insurance for their employees.
Millions and millions of people opting not to buy insurance.
People paying the fines instead of the insurance fees due to the high cost.
Employers insuring only their "employee," but not their spouse or kids (UPS).
ObamaCare is not going to insure everyone, millions will still be without healthcare.*
The working poor still being unable to pay their health care costs (even with the subsidies), due to high co-pays.

What's going to happen next year? You will see millions opt to not buy the insurance even while millions more are going to the hospital to have costly procedures done.

The result is predictable.

Insurance companies will get out of health care forcing us all into a single payer system.

Joan of Arc listened to the voices in her head. I'm not sure if Cruz and Lee are interested in anything more than hearing themselves talk.

For those here that support the ACA, aka obamacare, how do you propose that this program is going to be funded? Are you not aware that as a result of this legislation many many people are now working part-time jobs as employers cut hours to avoid paying for insurance.

I am glad that some republicans, such as Sen Lee, have the courage to oppose something that they know is not affordable. I am displeased with Orin Hatch's cowardice in not voting. He should let his constituent know where he stands on this issue.

The real reason that the RP opposes the ACA is that if it is successful, it will make Obama and the Dems look good. That is the one thing they fear most. If the dems look good, it will hasten the end to the TP faction of the GOP.

Obamacare is nothing more than a HUGE tax increase and all that money is going to Washington DC...those who voted yes voted to TAX you relentlessly and without checks and balances! This is a sad Day for hard working Americans......and speaking to you Obama voters, Give me some fries!

ravlens, if you will consult some RELIABLE sources, you will discover that virtually every one of the points you try to raise have already been proven to be false.

Hate radio is not a source of reliable anything.

Where were you the past 3 years when it was repeatedly stated this was funded through taxes and medicare cuts? (Romney attacked on both).

Mike Lee is one of the FEW bight lights in congress today. Wait about 6 months after Obamacare has gutted your insurance policy and your wallet and your job and then ask yourself how proud you are of John McCain for insuring the survival of this abomination. You can have McCain and the rest of his good ole boy buddies - I am done with the GOP.

To Old Coach and all those who think this is about Obama, it isn't.

Very few American's want the ACA. The conservatives don't want it on principles of freedom and smaller government. The liberals don't want it because they want state run, single payer health care.

The only ones who sort of want it are the Obama worshipers, because it is a symbol of his power, but they don't really want the ACA program. You can see this throughout the comment boards here. Who is defending the program, very few. Most are only defending Obama and his party.

The ACA is not affordable. It is not viable. The provision of exchanges is not there, most likely because 2400 pages is way to big to manage, especially by the most inefficient of management, the federal government.

If you want health care done right, keep the feds out of it, and work off the models of Primary Children's Hospital, Shriner's, and others like it. They work very well.

Consider this: you think congress is incompetent and impotent, right? So you want to trust them with your health care? That is crazy!

National health care means healthy people will pay their own medical bills, and a majority of the bills for the non-healthy (because money does not majically appear out of nowhere). Unless we can find more dupes who will loan us (our federal government) money which will never be repaid. Obamacare will become a permanent, though unsustainable, system. Someday disaster will ensue.

One old man says consult some reliable sources and you will find that employers are not cutting employees hours, or that young healthy Americans are not opting of Obamacare and opting to pay the fines.......what moonbeam sources are you referring too? It's all over the news from the AP, NYT, USATODAY, NBC! get your nose out of the onion and Aljazeera!

Emphatic defeat to the core of the tea party. Our Senator was a principal architect of the emphatic defeat and the infamous fake filibuster. Maybe the caucus bullies will get a clue.

I am not a Democrat, Republican, Tea-party, Libertarian, anarchist, or Constitutional party member! What am I? Someone that can't be defined, seen, labeled, or exposed. But, I'm here and won't go away. I am here amongst a heck of lot more than all of the above mentioned drones, particularly the Democrats and Republicans, who would rather watch the country go down in bankruptcy before standing for something. My 'party' is a part of the silent majority that know better and actually expect a politician to make our government ends meet without confiscating and destroying the principles that made this country great. I am growing every day and when there is enough, government will actually work.

Ted Cruz has reenergized a sleeping giant, one the IRS tried to stifle. It isn't going away and will only get stronger and stronger. The freedom loving Red Blooded American will rise to prominence and domination over all odds!

The silver lining of the shutdown is, the IRS agent I spoke to today says they may never get around to processing my audit for 2010.....

YAY Shutdown!!
