College football fans should see this as another sign that there beloved institution is about to change in dramatic ways. This decision by the NCAA is so representative how out of control they are. The penalties were reduced because of "good behavior" by the institution. What??? What about SMU? USC? others that completely complied and had to pay the full penalty. No, they were reduced because of the complete lack of consistency and teeth that the NCAA has. Seeing the inconsistency in penalties, Penn State (and even the state itself) threatened to sue. NCAA caved. The NCAA is just a joke. Who do they catch? No one. It's always the news media that catches the cheaters for them. Look at the Miami situation... Nothing seems to be happening and it's been months. Why? NCAA botched the initial investigation by breaking the law themselves!

Throw in the concussion lawsuits that will start popping up and "personal images/EA Sports, Ed O'Bannon" lawsuit and the poor colleague players who need to get paid and colleague football will not survive as we know it in a few years. Big changes coming.
