Now, as we've been told, is not the time to discuss gun control. Nor was it a few days ago. And surely many will mention Chicago's gun control efforts, ignoring the flourish of gun shops in neighbouring communities. I don't know what the answers are, but I know this: We're going to keep doing what we're doing, and it's not working.

Wait a minute! Chicago has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation. How could this happen with all those strict gun control laws? Doesn't getting the guns out of the hands of honest citizens mean less gun crime? Oh...wait a minute...I forgot, all gun control does is disarm the honest citizen. Criminals aren't interested in any laws. Silly me.

What the heck was a 3-year old child doing at the park with a bunch of adults after 10 p.m.?

Actually, now is the perfect time to counter all the gun control talk that liberals in Washington have trying so ardently to reactivate since the Navy yard killilngs. Liberal understandably don't want us to look at the big and full picture... just what suits their beliefs.

Chicago epitomizes the argument that 2nd Amendment advocates have been trying so hard to explain. Stricter gun laws are not heeded by criminals. Many life-long felons in prison have admitted that criminals are very much in favor of stricter gun control, since their main effect is to disarm honest citizens and make them more vulnerable to criminals.

As "Mainly Me" pointed out above, Chicago does indeed have perhaps the strictest gun controls in the nation. Citizens aren't supposed to own any. Do you honestly think any of those gang members heed those laws? Not in the slightest! As a result, Chicago has one of the highest murder and crime rates in the entire nation, and gives a preview of what the country would be like if national gun control advocates totally get their way.

The authors of our Constitution actually knew what they were doing in allowing us personal protection.

" I don't know what the answers are..."

To answer this statement, you've got to see what the problem is: rampant lack of morals. Not just sexual morals, but moral behavior: honesty. Real, genuine honesty on the part of everyone will solve most of our problems. Unfortunately, with far too many people, the Golden Rule has been perverted. It's, "Do Unto Others Before They Do Unto You."
