Why exactly is Deseret News giving publicity to a non-member who has made his career out of lampooning, ridiculing, and aiding in the disinformation campaign against the Church? Just wondering. There's nothing about this story that is newsworthy by Deseret News standards at all. He isn't even from Utah.

Part of the problem with the public perception of mormons is that they are thought to lack a sense of humor, and seriously lack perspective on any questioning, joking, etc, concerning mormons and the lds church.

I cannot wrap my brain around the (fill in the blank) attitude that makes some think that the Broadway show was not far and away the best thing for your reputation that has taken place in living memory. Making gentle fun of people and their beliefs shows them as endearing, not as ridiculous.

If "Book of Mormon" had been as frank and rough on lds as the non-fiction documentary "8"........OK, go ahead and despise it, but, if a fictionalized film is made, please do not look down on the actors who made their living saying the words.
