What worried me is, this will not only add to the gun control debate, but also to the debate on race. People on both the right and left will exploit this for political points, all but forgetting there is a family in Australia grieivng the loss of their son and brother. To them, he's now just a statistic.

what is telling is the parents think they are "good kid"(s). The parents evidently had no understanding of their children and little control. Now four families will suffer.

Truth is this story is already being buried. Where is Obama with his race baiting words"if I had a son he would look like Treyvon. Oh wait Treyvon was black. But Brack you are half white so why could not Chris look like your son. Reason your sitting on your duff is white doesn't sell.Have we heard Jesse(shakedown)Jackson demand justice for Chris. How about Al(Dixie Peach Pomade)Sharpton and his 100 city rallies. Where is the media with WHITE hiapanic shooters? All of the above had not trouble whipping the Zimmerman case into a race frenzy but they are silent now. Not much of a shock to me.

I trust these black murderers will be charged with hate crimes in addition to the murder itself?

Right Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and barack? Isn't that what should happen?

It is such a cowardly act by these three thugs. I can't see how the parents are claiming they are "good kids". Clearly you have something really wrong with you to do something like this just for fun. Imagine the outcry by the african americans if it were a black kid murdered by 3 white boys just for fun. They would pull the race card, as always. It sickens me that there are kids like these out there in America, and it is only a matter of time until they do something destructive. I hope the get the maximum sentence and I never have to look at their picture again.

Yeah, I kinda figured that all those people crying out for justice in the Zimmerman/Martin case would be silent on this one... No tweets from Jay-Z, Al Sharpton or even the POTUS... No surprise there...

Let's kill someone just for fun? You've got to be kidding me! These 3, if convicted should get the maximum sentence possible under the law and the world will be a better place.

Evil people exist in this world, and we must never pity nor tolerate them. We must identify them and protect society from their predatory actions forever.

Race is not a factor, although some may see a pattern, but rather the depravity and soulessness that festers when innocent children are born to mothers unable and unprepared to raise children. They are then raised in a culture that too often praise dependency, condemns achievement, deny personal responsibility, reject the concept of right and wrong, or respect for others.

These are common among the dependency class which has arisen from liberal welfare programs, although started with the best of intentions and compassion, they are irrefutably failures by any objective measure. Worse, they have destroyed the nuclear family, especially in the African American community, and mocked and degraded religious values as well as any message that high moral standards, education, hard work and personal responsibility will result in a better life.

So,instead we have "bored" teenagers, already engaged in criminal activity, who murder an innocent man in cold blood "for fun." That is pure evil. These actions must result in the most severe penalties if we are to be safe.

Exactly how is it not racist? Do you know the criteria they used to select their victim?

Because the suspects were arrested and charged... the system is kinda going as it's supposed to go. The outrage over Zimmermann that built up was because the guy killed Martin and wasn't arrested or charged. I guess you all are too busy race-baiting rendering you unable to identify that distinction between the two cases...

So now a recent article came out that these three thugs were tweeting racial slurs against white people just a few days before they killed the victim. so we can safely state that it was a hate crime. Where are all of the outcries and statements of the same leaders pulling the race card?

Similar topic: why is it that many african americans feel that they can use racial slurs amongst themselves, but as soon as a person of different skin color says it it is so taboo? Just curious.

Y'all keep ignoring the fact that one of the perpetrators is actually white. Unless that white kid hates himself, it wasn't a hate crime.

For the same reason that fat people may feel comfortable calling themselves fat, but feel insulted when others do -- or why crazy cat ladies may call themselves "crazy cat ladies" but take offense when others do. Any group may claim labels within their own group that are not acceptable when applied from one group to another.

Contra- you missed on both. One guy is mixed, you know the same way Obama is, Tiger is? But they still go by "black", so they were 3 black individuals. They had tweeted out racial slang before the killing. I think it was a hate crime. Also, some black young people think it's cool to call them selves the n word as a way of feeling "Gangsta" it's a moniker of honor in a way amongst themselves. It's not the same as me calling myself fat and letting all my fat friends do the same. I may call myself fat out of disgust or pity, they don't, it's completely opposite. It's a hypocritical way of dealing with race tension. Act tough and "gangsta" by calling yourself and others the n word, but if a different race says it, pretend you are offended and call Al Sharpton! Bill Cosby said if young black people couldn't start respecting themselves and not using that word, how can they possibly expect others to do the same?

These guys were also high school athletes. We're told that sports participation promotes good character but over and over again we hear of high school athletes being involved in horrible crimes. I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to get involved in high school athletics. Too many of them get mixed up in violent crimes, drugs, promiscuous sex, etc. Why in the world to our schools sponsor these character eroding activities?

These people need to be given what they took. They are telling people they did it for fun, unbelievable! Let them go and guess what, next week they are going to do it again because they got away with it the first time. I am glad they are trying them as an adults.
