Just another crazy person expressing their 2nd amendment rights -- at an elementary school.

As I watch reports of another school population fleeing for cover, I'm reminded that we've been told that now is not the time to discuss gun control.

Our "well regulated Militia" in action. Come on people, wake up. There needs to be limits to access to these weapons.

My response to all the above comments spewing "gun control"... when will you learn that giving up your rights is not the correct response? Your 2nd amendment rights are a protection to you, not a threat.

Don't give in to socialist thinking by removing constitutional rights.

OnlyInUtah defending the right for crazy people to take assault weapons to elementary schools. Crazy people should not have access to high powered semi-automatic rifles designed for warfare. Unfortunately this mentality is not "Only in Utah".

It's against the law for a mentally ill person to have an assault weapon.

Why didn't he obey the law so that he couldn't possess a weapon?

Liberals keep saying if we make it illegal it wont happen.

Didn't this guy know it was illegal? He must not have, since he did it.

It takes a special kind of person to think that criminals and mentally ill people will obey gun control laws.. gun control only serves to take guns away from those who follow the laws.

Better protections of our children are needed... but gun control is not the answer.

Firing a gun in an elementary school is not a second amendment right. I don't know any rational person who believes that it is a right.

@ Chris B: Maybe if we had universal background checks, the person selling him the weapon would have known he was not legally allowed to have it and would not have sold it to him?

Why should it be harder to vote - also a Constitutionally guaranteed right - than it is to purchase a gun?
