@ Chris B: Maybe if we had universal background checks, the person selling him
the weapon would have known he was not legally allowed to have it and would not
have sold it to him?Why should it be harder to vote - also a
Constitutionally guaranteed right - than it is to purchase a gun?
Firing a gun in an elementary school is not a second amendment right. I
don't know any rational person who believes that it is a right.
It takes a special kind of person to think that criminals and mentally ill

It's against the law for a mentally ill person to have an assault

possess a weapon?Liberals keep saying if we make it illegal it wont
happen.Didn't this guy know it was illegal? He must not have,
since he did it.
OnlyInUtah defending the right for crazy people to take assault weapons to
elementary schools. Crazy people should not have access to high powered
semi-automatic rifles designed for warfare. Unfortunately this mentality is not
"Only in Utah".
My response to all the above comments spewing "gun control"... when
will you learn that giving up your rights is not the correct response? Your 2nd

give in to socialist thinking by removing constitutional rights.
Our "well regulated Militia" in action. Come on people, wake up. There
needs to be limits to access to these weapons.
As I watch reports of another school population fleeing for cover, I'm
reminded that we've been told that now is not the time to discuss gun
Just another crazy person expressing their 2nd amendment rights -- at an
