The pro-byu, Ute-haters are out in force. It must be sad trying to tear your former rivals down, knowing that your own team's games have no particular significance.

“Interesting how irrelevant Utah has become on the national scene and how BYU is garnering more and more national attention.”

I thought I would share this little gem from day number two of SEC media days from last week, when ESPN analyst Bret McMurphy had this to say about byu and the other independents regarding the playoff system starting next year: “Obviously with Notre Dame, you would expect them to have somebody” (representation on ADs being a part of the selection committee).” As far as BYU, Army, and Navy-I would be surprised if they have that representation. I mean, to be quite honest, they’re not going to be in the running for the National Championship.”

That’s coming from a network that supposedly LOVES all things byu. Seems like you’re right in byu garnering more national attention-too bad it’s not the right kind…Looking forward to the slow boys in blue getting exposed on national television a few more times again this year.

Utah might be 0-3 in the state if they scheduled Weber State!

It is marked down but completely wrong. I will enjoy the silence on these posts after Utah goes 0-2 in-state.

    byu 7-6
    usu 7-6

Utah 30(4-0 career SWEEP over byu)
    byu 14

It's funny reading all the troller comments. It won't be that funny to any of them when the Utes sweep the state and they won't have anything to say until next year, but their silence will be extremely satisfying.

Utah was in the Sun Bowl game in year 1 of the PAC12 era; a game that they won. The payout for being in that game was ~$2M per team. BYU's payout for BOTH bowls, combined, was ~$1.1M.

Yes, Utah was not in a bowl last year. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

    Relevance during Independence/PAC era

    Top 25 Finishes
    BYU 1
    Utah none

    Bowl Games
    BYU 2
    Utah none

    Average Sagarin Finish
    BYU #30
    Utah #50

    Pre-season Power Ratings
    BYU #34
    Utah #57

The only thing relevant about the Utes being in a big boy conference is the 5 or 6 extra conference wins they provide to their conference foes every year. Maybe you can be even more relevant this year by contributing 8 or 9 wins to the coat tails you're riding.

Is it just me or is Kyle still sucking up to the Pac-12 brass? With the comments that he is giving it doesn't give me the confidence that the Utes belong in the Pac-12. His comments make me feel like it is a guest membership that needs to be renewed in a couple of years.

And we already about byu's relevance and how much respect the get from the 5P. lol.

    Go Utes.

I didn't watch the PAC media day but I did watch the ESPN/PAC segment last night. There was not mention of anything Utah on the nation's #1 sports show. Interesting how irrelevant Utah has become on the national scene and how BYU is garnering more and more national attention.

Agreed. The Utes are irrelevant in their conference. Whit will be gone after this year and the program will continue to slide just a little deeper into the basement.

Kind of sad that the utes didn't get any respect from their beloved conference. Reality has set in.
