I worries me very much that she will be taking on the presidency of the University of California with all of its capuses. What if she decides to institute the same kind of egregious security measures there as she did for the nation as a whole? Will students be required to undergo mental and physical distress and invasive searches everytime they want to enter a classroom?

I guess she couldn't stand the crud that the Obama Admin was making her do.

Well, Mark B anyone of the names you mentioned would be a vastly better person than JN. I just can't wait for the fight if Obama trys to put a lefty look the other way type in that office. He just put a Republican in as FBI director, so maybe he will do the same on this law enforcement job too. We can only hope.

What m.g. calls a "rubber stamp" is actually part of the executive branch of government, and is no more a rubber stamp than anyone else serving in the Cabinet. Does m.g. have anyone in mind for this office? Antonio Gonzales? Dick Cheney? Herman Cain? Steve King? One of the Romney sons?

Getting her replacement past the Senate will be a real doozy of a fight. Harry Reid has said that he will go nuclear and allow just a simple majority of 51 votes for her replacement to be approved. The Republicans of course don't want another rubber stamp for the Obama administration for this post. The issue of border security is too important for that to happen. Watch out, the fun will begin after September when she leaves.
