Maybe because what he has done does not legally warrant the use of so much muscle?
What exactly is he a traitor about? The fact that he said he was no longer going to be a part of a government that was collecting data far and away removed from that needed to monitor for terrorism?
He is as those years and years ago that refused to be governed by another country and started a revolution.
THINK about the whole thing, read, THINK. Don’t have a knee jerk reaction to what the government has put out for news.
I have to learn more, in the meantime I believe he acted his conscious and it does not seem to be easy for him.

Sarah? Is that you?

Isn't it interesting how many people want to "go get" the messenger instead of getting the "crook" that the messenger told us about? But that's the way "crooks" operate. They divert and divide, pretending that their gross crimes are of no consequence, but that the "crime" of exposure deserves the ultimate penalty.

I thought he was a hero.

Should the US allow foreign nations to just come here and grab those they feel are fugitives? No? Why should they allow us to do it then?

Funny, and oh so ironic this letter was published just before the 4th of July --

I believe those wrote and believed the same things Mr. Snowden does:

Governments can not "spy" on their citizens,
ALL Americans are innocent until proven guilty,
All are granted due process,
and Warrantless searches are deemed illegal and un-Constitutional,

Were also considered "Traitors" to their country.

Today - We Americans - call them "Heros",
Because they loved their country and our freedoms, more than their individual life itself.

I would agree with Mike Richards (I actually did) as long as long as he included Cheney/Bush with Obama.

Well Malaysia would like to send in a team to get Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld for war crimes.

I wouldn't doubt if someone convicts Obama for drone attacks.

What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

We would not allow other nations to do here what the letter writer proposes we do to other nations.

Do you find it intersting that neither Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield or Wolfowitz is doing any traveling out side the boundries of the United States?

After hopping around the world during the Bush presidency they no longer travel outside the boundries of the United States. Why?

Do you think they wish to avoid any other country wishing to try them for their actions in Iraq?

Miracle of miracles, I agree with Mike Richards for a change.

It would be absolutely INSANE to send Seal Team Six to get Snowden.

You actually want them to make a raid into Moscow, Russia?

Tracy Booth,

"The U.S. should stop playing patty-cake with the traitor Edward Snowden and send in Seal Team 6 to fetch him back."

You go do it, Tracy. Rush right in there and carry out a citizen’s arrest. The news media will love you for all of the standard two day news cycle. Besides, Seal Team 6 is only good for handling a garden variety international incident.

Is there a DN quota for silly letters per week? I think you exceeded it with this one.

Tracy Booth is right. We need to send Seal Team Six in. But not after Snowden. We need to send them to the White House, then the Congress, and finally the Supreme Court. That's where the traitors reside. Traitors to their oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. An oath that none of them seems to recall.

Remember....England considered Washington and all his conspirators in the Revolutionary War as traitors. Looks like one person's traitor is another's hero.
