So in term 1 when his primary concern should have been helping the country(which I believe would include visiting states without regard to how it would help him next election) it is clear he spent his time just looking at the next election.

Next winter after you have stored the clubs Mr. President, grab some skis and head out for a taste of Utah powder. If you play your cards right you can get your genealogy done while you're at it. I would love to see the president visit Utah.

If he did come to Utah, he would be blasted for not doing the work of his office. He can't win, so why bother?

Claudio,
Obviously he did win. He is President Obama. Smh

If I were a Democrat in the White House I wouldn't waste my time on a visit to Utah, either.

Please BO, we can do without the disruption caused by a visit, what with secret service security concerns and all.

remember when slick willy shut down LAX so he could have his hair cut while Air Force 1 sat on the runway?

Slick willy came to Seattle while I was living there. The traffic, already 4th worst in the country, was an even worse nightmare when they shut down highways for security purposes.

BO, we can do without all that.

I will give you credit for not being a hypocrite. A BO visit would be pure hypocrisy. He cares about us even less than we care for him.

Big deal. I wouldn't cross the street to shake his hand.

It's no use. If Obama visited Utah, there would be posts on DN claiming the trip cost taxpayers half a billion dollars. Then he'd get abused for being a Bulls or Wizards fan instead of pulling for the Jazz. Finally, someone would scream that he was coming to confiscate all privately owned guns in the state, and that an army was coming to help get that job done. All of this would be "fact", with the rest in the form of rumor and gossip.

Re: Denver2Portland

Obviously, I wasn't discussing his ability to win votes. I was discussing that he would only be criticized if he came, criticized if he didn't.

Smh at the lack of reading comprehension on these threads.

The Dakotas have booming economies based on private oil exploration and development so it makes sense he wants no part of that. Utah is Mormon - hates that Christians that cling to guns and religion. Texas has Rick Perry and a booming economy based on private enterprise and low taxes so again he wants no part of that. Basically Barack is only going to visit those places that buy into BIG government and socialism along with heavy unions and high taxes.Remember he is NOT the president of ALL of the United States ... only those states that concur with his socialist big government mentality. You will NEVER see the man in Utah nor will you ever see the man up on the stage with Rick Perry of Texas. I would go as far as to say you will never see his skinny little face on any stage where the economy is booming due to private enterprise and non-goverment bail outs. He is all over places like Detroit and LA and Chicago - any liberal stink hole that is heavily government dependent.

So he hasn't visited all 57 states yet?

Let's forget Obama-Bush, or Republicam-Democrat.

Two questions:

1. If we had honest leadership working hard for the people. Would we have the debt, high unemployment, declining economy, and education we have today?

2. If we had honest leadership working hard for the people. Would we have hundreds of thousands, American troops killed in VietNam, Iraq, and Afghanistan?

Has our leadership been high quality? Has our tax money been used wisely?

The State is better off without him visiting. As a matter of fact, I doubt we actually would want him to come visit. Please Mr. President, stay out of Utah.

Re: OnlyInUtah

Don't know who this "we" is that you speak for, but I'm not a part of it. I would be happy to see the president visit Utah, be s/he a Democrat, Republican, Independent, Socialist, Green, or anything else. That includes President Obama.

Re: Patriot

"Remember he is NOT the president of ALL of the United States ... only those states that concur with his socialist big government mentality."

Re: Worf

1) Entirely possible that we would have all those things. Since we never have had that kind of leadership, it's impossible to answer that question. That's why it's called guesswork.

2) Probably not, but again, impossible to know how having those kinds of leaders would effect a given situation.

At any rate, you have perfectly explained the need for the POTUS to come visit Utah. You and everyone else should have the chance to show and tell him what your beliefs are and present solutions to possible problems that we all are facing together as a country.

worf, could you stand some GOOD news? Adding combat deaths from Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan still leaves you well short of 100,000. Oh, no. I just realized that this means the schools failed to teach us how to ADD! The shame of it!

I wish Utah put more resources towards education.

I don't wish that Obama would visit Utah.

There are some things I want to have happen. There are other things I don't care much for.

Riverton Cougar

David brings up a good point. Since we want education in Utah to improve, it would be better if Obama stayed out of Utah.

Claudio,
the "we" spoken of includes the majority of Utahans.

BO got less than 25% of our votes, so obviously he is NOT well thought of here.

If he came to Utah,, specifically to Bluffdale,, to throw the delete switch on his non_related data (NSA) mining,, he might have an audience.....

An expansion on my last thought. We have a new 1.5 billion dollar facility that was awarded us by the US government.. some say it was in the works prior to Obama's presidency,, some say it was given a Utah home because of local to large groups of bi-linguists living nearby (LDS missionaries),, heaven forbid a missionary be recruited to spy camp... Just waiting for the New "O" to be cemented on the Bluffdale Hillside....
