Enough. Let's take care of our own. Let's deport all illegals and clean up the mess and abuse these 11+ million have placed on the country. Enforce the current laws. Members of Congress have shown the American people they are unfit to lead this country. They have pandered to one race and one race only to secure their votes. We should all be disgusted. Kerry is doing the bidding of a corrupt administration and misguided state department. He is perhaps one of the last qualified. He is a joke.

This is a Sunni-Shiite feud with extremists on both sides. The dictator is backed by Iran and Hezbollah, and the rebels by the Muslim brotherhood and al Qaeda. There really seems to be no better choice here. Continued control by Assad threatens the national security and existence of Israel, and a victory by the brotherhood would lead to widespread and greater persecution of religious minorities. Just look at what happened in Egypt. They overthrew the dictator and voted in an Islamic government, controlled by the brotherhood and other even more extreme groups. Christians are being killed and imprisoned there like they never were under the former secular dictator Mubarak. American liberals are absolute fools to think that democracy is the antidote to Islamic orthodoxy. America should have supported the Egyptian dictator; at least he was no Iranian puppet Assad.

I hate to say it, but this is probably a war that the United States should wait out. There is no morally right choice here. This isn't an issue of freedom.

I wonder why so many people in D.C. both Republican and Democrat continue to believe that freedom and Islam can co-exist. It is no coincidence that in the Middle-East there is no country run by Muslims that is remotely free, no matter what brand of Islam is running the country. All that happens is trading one tyranny for another. Look at todays Iraq. Still just as much a mess as when Saddam ran the place. And we spent billions of dollars and lives to accomplish nothing that will last. Maybe they voted a couple of times, but you can bet that in the next decade or so, Iraq will be run by either radical Shiite or Sunnis.
Same for Syria. The only country worth defending in that part of the world is Israel.

I'm off my soap box for now.
