They ought to be kissing Obama's feet.
Mexico, with a population of 116 million, has 33 million of its people here in the United States. They have benefited the most from our immigration policies. And nearly 3 out of 5 illegal aliens are from Mexico.
We buy oil from them.
We refine their oil for them.
Remittances from the United States account for the second largest source of revenue.
We provide law enforcement support (at our expense) in their drug war.
Yet Obama will go there, hat in hand, and ask them for some political pressure for the latest amnesty plan.
The tail is indeed wagging the dog here.

Maybe he could ask them to stop abusing their own so that they wouldn't have to leave with no intention to return. Maybe he could suggest that they root out corruption and start arresting drug dealers, alien smugglers and corrupt cops. The possible list of suggestions is endless.

President Obama needs to encourage Mexico to create 12 to 16 million jobs that pay 3 times their current average wage so that their citizens who came here illegally will have a reason to return home and those thinking of coming will stay home. That will push the problem down to around 4 million people still here illegally which makes deportation and border security an easier problem to solve.

I get the feeling that Mexican leadership could care less about increased border security and measures to reduce their countrymen from crossing into the US. They want the drugs to keep flowing while their lower classes and poor become America's problem as they begin a new wave of "colonization" of what was once held mexican territory. They are just hoping American gringos are really too stupid to catch on.

Already campaigning for new Democrat voters for the 2014 and 2016 election. While he is there, maybe he could hand out a few of the USDA pamphlets about Mexicans getting food stamps.

We are in a drought condition here in southern Texas. Much of the problem is that Mexico won't share the water they owe us by treaty, and it sits in the Falcon Lake Reservoir.

What a shame that we're on our knees begging any country for help. We can't be self-sufficient? Has the mighty fallen?

This country can be fixed with proper leadership. There are many who would love to work.

Right on, worf. How about Rick Perry for "proper leader"? Anyway it would get him out of Texas.

Mark B:

Compare, and contrast.

California could use Rick Perry.
