France legalizes gay marriage after harsh debate

    Why would you guess that? There are many religious people who *support* gay marriage. Several Christian denominations are already happy to perform gay weddings in their churches, even in the US. They certainly don't believe that France will lose any of God's blessings because of gay marriage.

    Your personal version of God doesn't get to win just because you say so.

    I personally congratulate the French people for this historic move. France's state motto is "Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite". They honored the principles of Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood with that vote yesterday.

    Congrats to France! And shame on those anti-gay protesters who felt justified in resorting to violence and threats.

    Remember the French rallying cry -- Liberte! Egalite! Fraternite! This vote genuinely reflected those principles of liberty, equality, and brotherhood. Good going, guys!
